Q: 1. How is the motor powered? The set comes with a bunch of cables but no battery. What kind of battery will work with it?

A: It comes with a Ptap (Dtap) plug that you can power to a battery with that kind of port. I use Vmounts on my Red Epic and connect to that when using the system.

A: The motor and the remote are currently sold together.

Q: 3. Will the remote work for different brand's motors?

A: PDAI P, no. The DJI Focus is only compatible with DJI Focus motors, DJI aircraft, and the Osmo series of handheld gimbals

Q: 4. Hi, would this follow focus system work with a DSLR setup, for example a Canon 5D III with a 24 mm lens? Or is it for bigger production cameras?

A: Yes, this product will work with a DSLR set up along with working with a Cinema Rig.

Q: 5. Can you change the ratio of the focus wheel, to the focus motor? I am thinking photo lens with short focus through can be hard to get precision focus with a 1:1 wheel

A: Yes you can there are two ways one is manual the other way is to change the setting of the brain or change the position sensor setting you can have multiple focus points that will enable to different ratios

Q: 6. Saw on Kai W website. Does it hold DSLR with grip as well as lens and what max length of lens?

A: If you are referring to using/inserting a camera into the removable padded camera insert included with the Manhattan Portage Red Label Snapshot Camera Backpack, no, a camera with a built-in grip or an external battery grip would not be recommended for use with this case. I would recommend a lens with a maximum length of 5.5 inches to 6 inches (13.97 cm to 22.86 cm) maximum for use with this case and the padded camera insert.

Q: 7. How well does this product work with heavier cinema grade lenses like the Zeiss CP.2, Canon Cine Primes or Sigma Cine Primes?

A: This will work very well with Cinema Lenses.

Q: 8. How long will the DJI rechargeable battery last for?

A: The battery in the Focus lasts up to 14 hours on a single charge.

Q: 9. A lot of people seemed to experience motor burn out problems....is it safe to use a generic 14v V-lock or similar (MoVi d-tap etc) using the supplied cable or is that only for Ronin use...if so what cable should one buy?Thanks!
