Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. dose it come with a cable?

A: Unfortunately not.

Q: 2. Blackjet website lists the TX-4DS as supplied with 2x-DX-1SSD 2.5" Adapter Modules. Does the TX-4DS you sell include these modules?

A: This TX-4DS dock system includes M.2 SSD enclosures only.

Q: 3. do I understand correctly that, in addition to 4 expansion card slots, it has m2 slots inside, and does it support 4 tb mvme ?

A: The BLACKJET Thunderbolt 3 4-Bay Cinema Dock System comes with two DX-1M M.2 enclosures that each can hold one M.2 NVMe SSD and each occupies one of the four available bays in the dock. These enclosures are compatible with 4TB NVMe SSDs.

Q: 4. Thanks for the response Chris. Does this support full NDI as well or only HX?

A: Yes, the NewTek NRS16 Remote Storage will also support full NDI.

Q: 5. Can the pages accept two 8x10s? One on each side facing outwards?

A: Yes it fits two 8x10s on either side of one page.

Q: 6. Would it be practical to connect this to a mac mini being used as a media server? The 500 GB drive in the Mac Mini is inadequate for my iTunes library and Video_TS files, but I don't want to pay several hundred bucks for a regular Thunderbolt external drive/enclosure.

A: Yes, this would work well with you're mac mini. However you would still need to buy the hard drives to dock into the rocketstor, as this is only an interface device. I have found it has worked with with all the SATA drives I have docked into it and have yet to run into any problems. And the transfer rate between the machine and the dock is superb. I do a-lot of video editing on our machine's and by using the dock I no longer have to copy the source material to the internal Hard drive and can edit the material direct on the drive I have docked. I hope this is helpful

Q: 7. Will it work with a 6TB hard disk? In the product information you say that the RocketStor 5212 max. drive capacity per bay is up to 4TB. But HighPoint website says the dock max. drive capacity per bay is up to 8TB, and even it has no capacity limitations. I am a little confused. Could someone please solve my doubt?. Thank you.

A: I ordered one after reviewing their website. I use 6TB and 8TB drives in my USB3 docks and expect them to work just fine in the RS5212. I also expect that higher capacity drives will be supported as they are made available. Use any Drive: Future proof-storage upgrades! The RocketStor 5212 benefits from HighPoint's persistent compatibility testing, which ensures full compliance with all current and upcoming SATA storage devices. The RocketStor 5212 is fully compatible with any off-the shelf SATA drive; from ultra high-capacity 8TB hard drives to blazing fast 6Gb/s SSD's!

Q: 8. Will this drive support two disks in a raid setup?

A: I'm doing that right now. Have three sets of disks, 1TB SATA, 500GB SATA and 256GB SSDD. Works great. Both the Mac's OS solution for soft raid (established in DiskUtilities) and the commercial SoftRaid software did the trick.

Q: 9. Is it compatible with my QNAP TVS-672XT 6-Bay NAS Enclosure?

A: Yes, this QNAP TL-D800C 8-Bay USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C JBOD Enclosure is compatible with the QNAP TVS-672XT 6-Bay NAS Enclosure.

Q: 10. Does this work with El Capitan? Is anyone using it with 6TB drives? Does it allow for easy mounting and unmounting of drives while there are two hardrives connected? any crash issues or kernel panic warnings I should know about?

A: I have El Capitan running on a SSD in the dock, no problems, crashes, etc.
