The Vidpro LED-530 is a compact and lightweight on-camera light measuring 6.75 x 5". Q: 1. Do the color and dimming settings remain after powering off/on?

A: Yes, since this Vidpro LED-330X light has analog (dial) controls, the unit will return to its current state after power restored.

A: I actually have cut some diffusion material like 216 to size to help reduce the amount of output.

Q: 3. Can this mount on a light stand and still having a tilt function?

A: Yes. Though I use a cold shoe to mount on stand and that also has a tilt function.

Q: 4. How bright is it

A: It is great a on camera light. It weighs very little It will light a subject well from 10' or more. The barn doors are well made. It will not light a whole room. If I don't get a perfect white balance I can easily fix it in FCPX or Premiere. I also use tinted white cards if I have time and my WB doesn't look right.

Q: 5. Can or does this replace the traditional flash? Seems like it could.

A: John, In a word no, because this light provides a very different effect than a traditional on-camera flash. Best to do an in store test to see the difference. Peter

A: You can use the light while it's plugged in using the wall charger. But you can't charge the battery with it. You must you the external charger provided with it.

Q: 7. This may be a stupid question but would this light be compatible with a stabilizer? I mean weight wise. I have the axler nimbus dual axis stabilizer and i use a panasonic g7 to film. The stabilizer has multiple 1/4 inch mounting holes on the top but i feel like the vidpro led would make the stabilizer top heavy resulting in it being impossible to balance. Am i right or wrong?

A: I haven't used a stabilizer, so I can't answer for sure. This light is not heavy, but I assume that any weight you add will throw off the balance, unless you can counterbalance. Good luck.

A: All I can say is that we have not had any flicker issues shooting with Panasonic HPX300 video cameras using standard shutter settings.

Q: 9. Can I use higher capacity Sony NP-F type batteries like those from Watson? Also, will I be able to charge said Watson brand batteries with the included VidPro charger?

A: if you will use it in a light stand like ido is perfect. But in hand held on camera setting will be heavier.
