Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with a Canon M50 ii?

A: The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens for Canon EF can be adapted to the Canon M50 II with the Canon EF-M Lens Adapter Kit for Canon EF / EF-S Lenses, BH # CALA. https://bhpho.to/30dls9g

Q: 2. Does it come with a lens hood?

A: Yes, a lens hood is included.

Q: 3. for the Sigma 18-35mm F/1.8 DC HSM Art lens Can this lens be used with the Canon EOS M50 mark 2 if you use the EF adapter?

A: Yes. This will work on an EOS M50 Mk II with the EF-to-EF-M adapter.

Q: 4. Is the Alpha mount version of the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens adaptable to the Sony PXW-FS7 using the LA-EA4 adapter? Or would it be a better idea to get the Canon version and use a Metabones adapter (Canon EF to Sony E mount)? What are the pros and cons? Thanks,Nicholas

A: I got this lens with an A mount and then got a Metabones A mount to E mount Speed Booster (using it for video with my VG10). Pros: got more speed (amazing results for night time shooting) . Cons: need to constantly watch out for vignetting (because Metabones will widen your image, you'll need to recrop it by zooming in a little).

Q: 5. This lens compatible with Canon R5 and $99 Canon RF to EF mount adapter? This lens offers fast and reliable auto focus and face tracking? I've seen too many Sigma reviews complaining about needing micro adjustments, I don't want that.

A: It is our understanding that the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens for Canon EF would have reliable auto focus and tracking when mounted on the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. However, there will be cropping in the image and a loss of resolution due to the lens being optimized for an APS-C sensor.

Q: 6. How fast is this lens to focus? Will I be able to reliably use this lens for basketball?

A: This lens would offer very fast autofocus and can be reliable if shooting from under the net.

Q: 7. work with t6

A: Yes, it is fully compatible with the T6.

Q: 8. The Rokinon 14 mm f/2.8 gets high praise from astrophotographers, yet the specs for this Sigma f/1.8 should make it better for stars, aurora borealis, etc. However, no mention in reviews or Q&A regarding this. Seems like it would be popular for this use with APS-C owners. Can any astrophotographers weigh in please?

A: The Rokinon 14mm is a great choice for astrophotography due its price, low amounts of comatic aberration, its extremely wide FOV, and its compatibility with full-frame and APS-C cameras. In contrast, while the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 is an incredible lens, it's price point, higher coma, narrower field of view (also due to its APS-C format) make it circumstantially less well-reviewed in these endeavors.

Q: 9. It comes with any accessories? lens cover etc??

A: The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens for Canon EF comes with, In the Box Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens for Canon EF Sigma LCF-72 III 72mm Lens Cap Sigma Rear Cap LCR II for Canon EF Mount Lenses Sigma Lens Hood for 18-35mm f/1.8 Art DC HSM Lens Lens Case USA Sigma Limited 1-Year Warranty USA Sigma Limited 3-Year U.S.A. Q: 10. Will this Sigma lens work with Canon R5 with Canon RF to EF adapter? If so will image be cropped for 1.6x magnification? Will image be sharp? Will auto focus face and eye detection work fast and reliably?

A: The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens for Canon EF will fit and autofocus on the Canon EOS R5 with Canon RF to EF adapter. Because this lens is designed for cropped sensor cameras the camera will go into cropped sensor mode. So there will be 1.6x magnification, the file will be small and the image quality will not be as good as the camera could produce.

This load is easy to adjust and work for a beginner. I love how well it captures and the cleanliness of the video. It is extremely high quality and well worth the money. I am a huge fan and will continue to use this lens for a very long time.

this is the perfect fast lens for videography. the 18-35 makes it an amazing vlog lens and the speed of 1.8 gives a beautiful blurred background.

Love love love this lens! My wife uses it for group portraits and I utilize it for my freelance videography, and we got it on BH while it was in the Deal Zone! It was a new lens for cheaper than any used deal I could find!

This is my first Sigma lens and I love it! The images are sharp and the lens is so much fun to shoot. Pros: Solid construction, heavy duty feel. The zoom and focus rings are extremely smooth to turn. Nice rubber grip adds to the solid feel. The lens never changes size, as you zoom or focus it all takes place internally. The images are very sharp. The button for auto/manual focus is nice and the included lens hood is great quality. Cons: This solid, rugged construction comes with a price, it is heavy, but manageable. In low light situations the autofocus does some hunting. Overall this lens is wonderful and I highly recommend it.

I love this lens. The quality is superb all around, and the build quality is also excellent. Focus is good. Lens hood is good. I really can't think of any flaws. I shoot weddings and events, and I have this lens on one camera, and a 70-200mm on another full frame camera, and that covers pretty much everything I would need.
