Kase Rear Lens Nd Filter Kit For Nikon 14-24mm F/2.8g Ed

This Kase Rear Lens ND Filter Kit contains three filters that are each compatible with the built-in rear filter slot of a Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED lens. Each filter can be used individually to create a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

The kit's ND 0.9 filter, ND 1.8 filter, and ND 3.0 filter provide a respective 3, 6, and 10-stop exposure reduction. These filters are constructed from tempered optical glass for shock resistance. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, while further enhancing clarity and color fidelity, each glass surface includes multiple layers of anti-reflection coatings. These coatings also offer greater protection to the filter substrate and help it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens a fisheye lens?

A: No, this is a variable wide angle lens. Great for landscape photography, but not a fisheye.

Q: 2. Does anyone know whats the manufacturer of this camera lens?

A: nikon

Q: 3. What clear protective filter size would this lens need?

A: You can't use a standard filter with this lens, but you can use the FotodioX WonderPana 66 System Holder for Nikon AF-S Zoom Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF Lens to add specialized filters such as neutral density or polarized.

Q: 4. Is this made in japan

A: Yes. I bought my 14-24mm at the end of July 2017 and the lens barrel shows that it was made in Japan.

Q: 5. is this lens weather sealed?

A: Yes.

Q: 6. what about vibration control?

A: Hi, the Nikon 14-24mm does not have vibration control.

Q: 7. Can this be compatible to nikon d7100?

A: Yes, it should work very well with the d7100. I currently own the superb d7000 and d610 and the lens works wonderfully on both bodies.Just remember that the d7000/7100 are cropped sensors, so your actual range will be 1.5 times the lowest and highest of the zoom range of the lens that you are using. It is a spectacular lens, from optics to construction. If you choose to invest in this lens it will follow you for many years to come on what ever body you choose to upgrade too. It is perhaps the most superior lens in this range.Hope this helps.

Q: 8. Has anyone tried using this lens for Infrared photography?

A: I have not but see no reason why it wouldn't work.

Q: 9. Does this lens require a tripod collar?

A: No this lens does not require a tripod collar but it is recommended that you make sure you have a tripod and head that can support the weight of the lens.

Q: 10. Do you have to manually set F-stop, even in Priority mode on D850?

A: No, the camera will adjust everything.

an excellent large aperture, extreme focusing ability, minimal vignetting and very low distortion lens. whenever you need that extra wide angle this lens covers the need. The only downside is lack of ability to use filters. But the awesomeness of this lens more than makes up for it.

The crispness and sharpness of this lens is unbelievable, edge-to-edge, minimal distortion at 14mm, and really a joy to use for landscapes, action, and shooting in applications where space and low-light is an issue. I was very reluctant to place the order, it is very expensive, but after using it a few times and looking at the results I have no regrets. A downside ir that it is heavy, and you can't install filters on it, but I am not overly concerned about this. Will just have to be extra careful with the front element of the lens. The only think that stinks is the cheap, plastic lens cover. Dissapointing considering how much this lens costs. It is very easy to lose it and will come off if you are not paying attention. Not recommended unless you are using a full-frame camera (D3 or D700), IMHO it would be an utter waste of money to use a super-wide angle lens in a crop body, it defeats the purpose of having a super-wide angle lens unless you have a body upgrade in mind. It is like having soup with a fork, it will get the job done, but there are better choices in wide angle lenses for a crop body at a more competitive price point. Full disclosure: I recently jumped brands from the one that starts with C after using it for over 2 years... I was using a 5DMkII + a whole bunch of top-of-the-line L lenses, including a 16-35 f/2.8L II. The 16-35 was pretty good, until I started using the 14-24... no contest. Period. Canon's 16-35 is pretty sharp in the center, but it gets soft in a hurry as you go to the edges, and it has more distortion. I jumped brands because I was fed up with the soft focus of my 5DMk2. Great camera -when it is on focus- with my D700 my hit rate is substantially better. Perhaps the biggest thing it has done for me is to put me in a different mindset when I am shooting, I am no longer worried if my photos will be soft, and that in itself is helping me focus (pun inteded) and freed my mind to work on creativity as supposed to be worried about my gear.

I have only had this lens for 2 weeks now and can't really tell you how it will perform for the purpose that I bought it for. I'm a cabinet maker and like to photograph my work after it's installed. Often times there is not enough room to step back and get a clear shot of the work produced. Stitching pictures together has worked sometimes but does not always work well. So I purchased this lens to see if it will do the trick. I have a D-700, which I'm very pleased with. I bought the 14-24mm f2.8G ED just before going on vacation, so I had something to play with while away. And play I did! I just could not get enough of this lens. It's challenging to use. It's almost as if you have to crawl into the subject to get good results. Staying back just by a few inches can result in a lousy shot. Trying to get a picture of a moving subject (like my daughter on a swing set) can be outright dangerous for both the subject as well as the photographer. Of course, taking pictures of people or animals with this lens gives a particular effect that has to be desired. It is by no means a portrait lens! This lens is like having a girlfriend: It's exciting, challenging, provocative, beautiful, funny and heart warming. It's such a eye catcher, it'll make your friends jealous. When used right, the results will be rewarding. But the opposite holds true as well: the outcome can be twisted and warped, boring and disappointing.

Yes, it's wide. Yes, it's fast. Yes, the glass is great. It's a highly rated lens and I'm here to say that it's an awesome piece of glass. It is worth every penny you spend on it - love using it !

Moved to Europe for three year assignment, very frustrated with narrow streets and difficulty fitting facades into frame of 24-70 lens (which is a great lens in its own right). Enter 14-24...first shot of church front in Nurnberg says it all--corner to corner sharpness and I was able to take a great shot on a narrow street front without having to stitch a pano together. Really pleased with outcome.

I had an assignment to shoot hotel enteriors and I wanted something wider than my Nikon 20mm 2.8. I looked at the Nikon 14mm 2.8 and the Nikon 14-24 2.8 zoom. I wondered about the sharpness of the zoom as compared to the prime but I ordered the 14-24mm zoom anyway. There was no reason to worry - the lens is razor sharp at 14mm, wide open at 2.8. I was also worried about distortion at 14mm. I kept the camera plumb with the walls and I couldn't believe it - there was almost no distortion at all! The client was more than satisfied and I know I'm going to beusing this lens a lot more in the future. As always, price ... from B&H was great!

Mounted it on a Basketball backboard and got great shots. Great lens for in close photojournalism, wide angle vistas. The lens is best for emphasizing the foreground elements and establishing clear depth in an image. Fast lenses are not as vital as they used to be because of high quality, high ISO cameras but there is always a time you are on the edge of enough light, where this comes in handy.
