Q: 1. I have been using 4 Canon speedlites with the canon wireless system for mobile work but recently found the need to use two more substantial strobes. Can these be triggered (with and without high speed sync) while the camera has the canon wireless transmitter on the hot shoe to control the speedlites?

A: Yes. Just set the D2 to slave mode and it will fire when it sees the flash. This is a line of sight trigger method and isn't always successful. make sure you test it out.

Q: 2. Does HSS work over the entire power range or is it limited?

A: Not currently.

Q: 3. I’m currently using a D1/500 with the Air Remote TTL-N. Will the D2 fire wireless in tandem with this set up?

A: You have to also connect the D2 Fixture in the same Group, or it's own channel.

Q: 4. what remote is available for sony a7rii users and this system before the air remote is released?

A: Besides the Profoto Air Remote TTL-S for Sony B&H # PRARTTLS, which will give you TTL control from your A7R II, there is also the Profoto Air Remote Transceiver B&H # PRAR, which allows for manual control of the power output and allows you to trigger the D2 heads wirelessly. An image is shown below.

Q: 5. will the Profoto D2 Hyper sync with my Pentax 645 Z ?

A: Hypersync would be a feature available on the Pocket Wizard Mini and Flex system, which is only compatible with Canon or Nikon cameras. The same would apply for the Profoto Air TTL-C and TTL-N transmitters which also work only with Canon or Nikon and which uses high speed sync.

Q: 6. will this work on a Fujifilm camera?

A: You can use this monolight with a Fujifilm X series camera with the help of the Profoto Air Remote Transceiver B&H # PRAR. The monolight is manually controlled in terms of output, but this remote will allow to control the power settings from the camera position as well as fire it. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 7. What is the length of the power cord on the D2 Monolight?

A: Nominally 16 feet, the same as the D1 power cord.

Q: 8. Can we use Profoto B1X 500 along with Profoto D2 1000 during Freeze mode and during HSS mode ?

A: The Profoto B1X can be used along with a Profoto D2 monolight when both are set to freeze mode or HSS mode.

Q: 9. Will this work TTL with my Nikon D850?

A: Yep, Just make sure you use the Profoto AirTTL-N

Q: 10. I noticed there is a huge temperature shift when switching from ttl to manual. Can anyone explain why this is the case? Its really slowing me down. I start with ttl and do the fine tweaking on manual but the the temperature shifts too cool and i have to spend time setting the wb when i switch from ttl to manual.

A: TTL to manual should have no barring on the color temp. Try setting your camera to flash for the WB and see if this persists. Also check to make sure that the B1 isn't in freeze mode.
