A: No it will not fit. This is made specifically for the Pelican 1560.

A: While Pelican does list the interior dimensions of the Pelican 1400 Protector Case as measuring 11.8" × 8.9" × 5.2", they do not list the measurement with the TrekPak Divider Kit for Pelican 1400 Small Protector Case installed in place. They do state the panels are 7/16" (1.1 cm) thick, so as there are two perimeter wall panels, I would estimate the size with the panels as 10.9" x 8" x 4.3" in size.

A: The pocket size is adjustable, you can make them any size you like.

Q: 5. Has anyone flown with this insert? I'm concerned the TSA will say something about the metal pins that hold the dividers together.

A: Yes, I did very often domestic and Internationally and never had any questions or problems at all. I have a very few dividers and all the metal pins are lined up in one corner.

A: The perimeter piece measures around 5/8 thick and the deviders are 3/8 .

Q: 9. Compared to the standard 1510 padded dividers, is the bottom foam much thicker? The bottom foam in the 1535 with trekpak was too much that I couldn't fit as much in as I did in the 1510 with padded dividers.

A: the bottom and the top foam are different when compared to the stock pick-n-pluck foam top and bottom. The top is a tighter fit which is great because it cannot fall out as easily when you open it. and the bottom is a thicker and I would say softer foam which I also like as it seems more protective to me than the pick-n-pluck.
