An iconic toy camera returns with the 135BC 35mm Bent Corners Film Camera from Holga, for those who appreciate light leaks, enjoy slight soft focus, and welcome retro vignetting to create truly unique images. One of the most iconic toy cameras available due to its simple and inexpensive design, the very features that personify the Holga would be considered defects in any other camera. The Holga 135BC 35mm film camera differs from the original 120 film versions in that it features an internal mask which cuts the image corners, creating a soft vignetting effect - hence the name BC, or "Black Corner", version. The 135BC offers a choice between f/8 or f/11, or "cloudy" and "sunny", aperture settings, along with 1/100 sec. or bulb shutter speed settings. The bulb setting allows the shutter to stay open for as long as necessary for long exposures. This makes it possible to do night photography, getting images without a flash in low light situations, or even painting with light. The simple zone focusing system provides focusing from as close as 3' away to infinity. A tripod mount is incorporated into the base of the camera for stable long exposure shooting and a top hot shoe accepts optional electronic flashes.

A camera designed to bring the fun and nostalgia back to photography, the Holga 135BC is the return of a classic toy camera capable of making some remarkable, yet inherently lo-fi photographs

Being able to load such a quality size film and advance frames as much or as little as you desire gives this camera an edge over all others. And nothing beats handing it to a 5 year old and not worrying if they drop it or take the best picture you've ever seen.

Terrific surprises paticularly at times of interesting and dramatic light. You never know what you are going to get and how the settings will reveal what this little leaky lightbox has to offer. Get one...or two. Laurence Siegel

5 stars if you want a unbelievably cheap plastic toy that allows you to take actual photographs. Yes, ACTUAL PHOTOGRAPHS!It's like the 1960's all over again. Truthfully, though, the Holga allows you to think about the photograph and not about all of the details modern digital cameras throw at you - white balance, exposure, etc. Digital can get in the way of creativity. The Holga allow you to do things that would be complicated Photoshop adventures with a digital camera - like double (triple, quadruple??) exposures (actually, more that 2 usually just adds confusion) and incremental microclick overlapping exposures. Enjoy, and don't worry. But remember, you only have 12 exposures (more or less, depending on your mood and how you wind the film)

This is my first Holga and I've been told that each one has it's own identity. It's also my first medium format camera. So far I've shot two rolls of 120 at 6x6 and I'm still getting a feel for it's focal length and shutter speed. It was a little awkward to load the film, but much better the second time since I knew what to expect. I didn't tape around the back or the red window and only got a little bit of vignetting, which I kind of like. Considering picking up a second one and a shutter release cable for some more experimenting and options. They sure do give an interesting result and it's one I personally like.

I have used Holgas for almost 15 years. I take serious photos with them. Yes, they are difficult because of their simplicity. Use lots of tape so they don't fall apart. Holgas are more durable than you think. This purchase replaced on that I travelled twice around the world with.

This is a fun camera to work with. I usually shoot with a Canon 5D but I wanted to change up the way I shoot and decided to get the Holga. You have to rely on your own skills and better judgement and take what the camera gives you. So far I've been amazed by the photos that I've gotten from the Holga. It certainly added little more creativity to my shoots.
