Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this actually have 3/8 -16 female thread on the spigot? I've seen some photos with and some without.

A: This one does not have the 3/8 -16 thread on the spigot.

Q: 2. Do you know the diameter(s) of the pole sections?

A: Trying to be specific: There is a base (called a turtle base), a stand (the main mast that is held by the base) and two risers (that telescope up from within the stand or mast and extend the height of the stand to above 10 feet.) As to diameters(s): the stand measures 11 cm around, (approx. 4.25 inches). The first riser measures 9.5 cm around, (approx. 3.75 inches). The second riser measures 7.9 cm around, (approx. 3.1 inches). Atop the second riser, seated on a standard 5/8 diameter pin, is a 2.5 inch grip head holding a 40 inch extension arm. The extension arm is 5 cm around (approx. 2 inches).

Q: 3. Are KUPO c stands compatible with Matthews? For example, could a Kupo gobo head attach to a Matthews baby pin or Matthews grip arm? Can you 'soldier' the stands next to each other (Matthews agains Kupo)? Looking to invest in a brand, and for the turtle base option I'd like, the Matthews is $50 more, and I like the quick release idea Kupo has. Is there any real con to investing in Kupo? I will be using these for film and video applications. Thanks!

A: Sorry I hit submit while I was editing. Kupo is a little heaver and the legs are bolted to castings, what we have noticed is a movement where the base tube and leg assemble join that's what gave it a lean. Matthews is a welded leg assemble and their is no movement in the column connecting area, also we have the strongest grip head in the industry.

Q: 4. What cases can accommodate this with the base removed and included in the case? My stand is measuring 55".

A: Please review the following for your transporting needs Impact LKB-RCS Light Kit Bag Rolling C-Stand Case (Black) BH #IMLKBRCS • MFR #LKB-RCS https://bhpho.to/3vJKH3U

Q: 5. Are any parts of this mini base made of plastic?

A: The only plastic parts are the tips of the feet.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with the Matthews Telescopic Baby Stand Extension?

A: Yes, the Matthews Telescopic Baby Stand Extension is compatible with the Matthews 20" C+ Stand with Turtle Base, Grip Head and Arm Kit (Black).

Q: 7. As this center is detachable, are there any bases with wheels you can buy and combine with this C Stand?

A: The column of this stand is detachable from the base. For a wheeled base that will fit the column, you've got the Manfrotto 299BBASE Wheeled Light Stand Base with Universal Head B&H # MA299BBASE. Please see the image below.

Q: 8. Can you lock the wheels so it does not roll or move?

A: no

Q: 9. Will this base combined with a 20" riser column be stable enough to support a 15" x 30" tabletop without a sand bag? I'm looking for a way to display my work at art fairs and want something that can be set up easily and quickly. People very rarely lean on my tables but it's always a possibility.

A: While this base is quite sturdy, it is always a good idea to use a sandbag on the base for added stability.

Q: 10. How do you attach a sandbag to the boom arm so the weigh is evenly distributed?

A: I hang the bag on the clamp and my light goes onto the bare end of the 5/8 rod
