Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Can this unit run off of AC power?
A: Yes. They come with everything you need. I'll also add that the two batteries on each unit run well past 2.5 hours. I did a recent time test and stopped at 2.5, because my upcoming interviews would not run longer than that. Probably another hour or two on top of that I'll bet.
Q: 2. Will this fit a Sony A7C and a 70-200 mm Lense?
A: No, it is too small to have the 70-200mm lens attached to the camera. If you do not attach the lens to the camera it should fit in the back pack.
Q: 3. Is this bag large enough to carry a Canon 5Diii, 24 - 105 ans 100 - 400 lens ?
A: I do not think so. I bought it for the same purpose and there I stayed, sleeping on the shelf. It is very small and the announcement is not explicit enough, in my opinion. It is deceptive. Victor Baldioli
Q: 4. How far out will this set light up something? What is the drop off in feet?
A: The drop off with all light sources are exactly the same; they are bound by the inverse square law. The inverse square law states that the power of the light will be inversely proportional to the square of the distance. So if you take a distance of 2 meters and square it, you get 4, the inverse of which would be 1/4 or rather, a quarter of the original light output power - not half. Simply put, if you double the original distance, the light is as strong as it was at the original distance. If you move the subject 3 meters from the light (3 * 3 = 9, so the inverse is 1/9th) the power of the light source now becomes 1/9th of what it originally was.At 4 meters away, the light is 1/16th its power compared to 1 meter away (4 *4 = 16, so the inverse is 1/16th). The above remains true with all light sources. The best I can recommend is to Google the inverse square law and lighting, as I cannot get into it here. But using the above as an example, if the ikan iLED312-V2 gave you an exposure setting of f/4 1/125 sec ISO 100 or f/11 1/60 sec ISO 400 at 20 inches (just under 2 feet), if you doubled the distance (40 inches, or just over 3 feet), equivalent settings for proper exposure would be f/4 1/30 sec ISO 100, f/11 1/8 sec ISO 400, or if you wanted the same aperture/shutter setting and instead changed the ISO, you may use f/4 1/125 sec ISO 400 or f/11 1/60 sec ISO 1600. At 80 inches (or just over 6.5 feet), you may use f/4 1/8 sec ISO 100 or f/11 sec ISO 400. If you wanted the same aperture/shutter setting and instead changed the ISO, you may use f/4 1/125 sec ISO 1600 or f/11 1/60 sec ISO 6400.
Q: 5. Does that square insert in the middle fit a Rolleiflex 3.5F?
A: Easily with no problem will it support a Rolleiflex 3.5F.
Q: 6. I'm hoping to use this bag as a lens changing bag. Will this fit large mirrorless lenses such as the Nikon Z 24-70mm f2.8 S and 50mm f1.2 S with their hoods on and ready to shoot?
A: Due to the width of the base of the Domke F-803 RuggedWear Camera Messenger Bag (Military Green) and the width of the Nikon HB-87 Bayonet Lens Hood for NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Lens, If you wish to have the lens hood on the lens in the working position, you would most likely need to place the lens in the camera case with the base of the lens facing the bottom of the bag so the top of the bag (which is roomier) may be able to expand to accommodate the width of the lens hood. The Lowepro ProTactic Lens Exchange 200 AW (Black), B&H # LOPTLE200AW, would be a better option for your usage needs.
Q: 7. From the pictures, this bag looks like it is tapered; that is; the top of the opening is wider than the bottom. Is this correct? Or is it an optical illusion because of the shape of the flap? Thanks.
A: The bag is slightly tapered but just to allow for support. I don't think it would hinder much.
Q: 8. I am a little concerned about the 3 inside depth of this bag. Will lenses like a Canon 35 1.4 and 50 1.2 fit comfortably with their hoods in this bag both on and off a 5DMkIII?
A: I use the Domke F-803 to carry a Fuji X-T1 and three lenses. One lens is usually on the camera. The bag is perfect for my needs. I had a Canon 5DMkII before the X-T1. It may be a little snug, but, I do believe that the F-803 should be able to accommodate your setup.
Q: 9. Will this bag fit an Nikon D3500 with a telephoto lens attached?
A: Yes, a Nikon D3500 equipped with small telephoto lens can fit into the Domke F-803.
Q: 10. Do the two zippers on the flap allow you to reach into the bag without opening the flap?
A: No. The Domke F-803 has two front pockets for accessories, such as memory cards, batteries, etc.
