Rugged, thick aluminum tubes support portable full-sized PA speakers weighing up to 120 lb. Even at venues where factors like wind or a crowded dance floor can affect the stability of speaker stands, the SS-47A will provide firm support for your PA speakers. This durable stand is made to hold up to the demands of travel and repeated use.

The SS-47A height adjusts from 3.8 to 7.5'. A sturdy metal locking collar is easy-to-grip and tighten for precise height adjustment. The main column features six preset heights that can be set with a locking pin for extra security for your speakers.

The tripod base offers steady support for your speakers. The tripod legs are constructed with a center brace, so all the legs are connected to the center column to ensure stability.

The SS-47A is ready to withstand the rigors of the road, with lightweight aluminum tubing that folds down to a compact 44" in length. Throw the stand in the trunk or in your gear case. The durable aluminum construction won't dent or bend during transport.

Rubber nonslip feet provide traction whether you're using the speaker stand outdoors, on an uneven surface, or on smooth surfaces like a gym floor.

The SS-47A has an industry-standard 1.375" speaker mount. A 1.5" mount adapter is included for compatibility with most mountable PA speakers.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The load capacity for this tripod is 19.8lbs. Is this still true if the center column is fully extended in the 90 degree horizontal position?

A: I had exactly the same question so I asked Manfrotto directly, here is there response...Don, thank you for your enquiry. The MT055XPRO3 tripod max load is 9 kg in its upright position. There is an assumption that when the centre column is repositioned horizontally, the column is usually centered across the tripod. This does not change the max load. if you are extending the column as far as possible to one end, it is suggested to reduce the max load to 2-3 kg. This calculation includes the weight of the head and camera equipment together. Please keep in mind the centre of gravity has shifted off significantly, therefore it will be necessary to add counterbalance. The 405 geared head can be attached to the MT055XPRO3 tripod centre column,. the top of the column has a 3/8 fixing thread which is compatible with the threaded bottom of the head. If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know. Regards, Marc HELPDESK

Q: 2. Can I change the feet? I want to use spikes or claws.

A: MA204SPK3 - these are the feet

Q: 3. can i use manfrotto 502hd pro video head to manfrotto 055x pro tripod?

A: Yes. The Manfrotto 502HD head has a 3/8 thread and the tripod has a 3/8 screw.

Q: 4. pole is compatible to the comica cvm vs08 directional microphone

A: The Comica Audio CVM-VS08 Directional Shotgun Microphone for Smartphones does not have an accessory thread to be able to use it by itself with the Auray BP-36A Quick-Twist Lightweight Aluminum Boompole. You would need to use the mic with a smartphone and smartphone holder that is equipped with an accessory thread in order to attach the boompole.

Q: 5. What is the shortest length of the tripod when it is completely retracted/folded?

A: The folded length of the Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod Deluxe Kit 9, B&H # MAMT055XP3D9, is listed as 24" (61 cm) under the Specifications tab on our website.

Q: 6. what is the difference between manfrotto mt055 xpro3 and mt190 xpro3 (aluminum) ?

A: The 055-series is larger, heavier, and sturdier than the 190-series. XPRO3 stands for their X-PRO series of tripods with 3 sections (XPRO4 would mean 4-sections) and can extend laterally for top-down shooting as well. The 190-series comes in X (no lateral) and XPRO versions, but the 055 is only available in XPRO.

Q: 7. Can I set this tripod up in about six or seven inches of water? Will the water ruin the legs and their mechanisms?

A: I would suspect that there would be no damage if it were thoroughly dried. Unless it is salt water which leaves corrosive residue. I simply use plastic trash bags over each leg to keep them dry, no issues then. I extend lower leg all the way and adjust upper one until level etc.

Q: 8. How do you configure this tripod for 3.5 setup?

A: Hi Peter,I'll try to explain the way that I have done this. For this configuration, I use the X PROball head because it allows for the easiest adjustments. First, hold the tripod as if you have just removed it from the box with the head pointed in the upward position. At the top of each leg, located just below the silver head mounting plate, you will see a rectangular silver lever approximately 2 1/4 inches long. This lever is the leg lock release. At the bottom of this lever, you will see an inverted triangle (with the point facing down). While holding the tripod by the other two legs, place your thumb on the triangle , of the leg you are working on, and apply downward pressure. You should feel the lock release. While maintaining this pressure, rotate the leg upward until it is in a horizontal position. This is the maximum the tripod will allow the leg to move. Release the pressure from your thumb and the leg will lock in place horizontally. Repeat this process for the other two legs. Now all three legs should be horizontal and the central shaft should still be vertical. Next, locate the wing-nut by the red emblem just below the silver head mounting plate. Unlock this wing-nut by turning it open. Invert the tripod so that the head mounting plate is seated in your left hand. At the bottom of the central shaft , you will see a large red triangular shaped button. Press this button and maintain pressure as you slowly push the central shaft upward. Continue pushing until you hear the lock engage . Invert the tripod right-side up. Then rotate the head mounting plate to the left of the wing-nut and the central shaft will now lay on top of the opposing leg. Next, turn the wing-nut to the locked position. Attach the X PROball Head and rotate the camera mounting plate to the upward position. Attach camera and you are ready to take low level pictures. Reverse each step of this process to return the tripod to its original position. Hope this helps.

Q: 9. Can I mount a shotgun mic like the Rode Video Mic Go?

A: Yes, the Auray BP-36A could be used with the Rode VideoMic GO.

Q: 10. Is there an optional strap that attaches to this Manfrotto tripod legs to carry over my shoulders? What is the part and link?

A: Absolutely. They make a lot of tripod straps that could work this way, and the Manfrotto tripods have a tripod strap clip that's on the apex/spider of the legs. One side of the strap will clip in while the velcro straps will wrap over the other end's three legs. https://bhpho.to/3y53x4e https://bhpho.to/37Zcb9H Alternatively, you could get a tripod bag which has shoulder straps that's padded to prevent bumps and bruises when the tripod swings around.
