Allowing you to record hands-on without the need for a computer, the DP-32SD 32-Track Digital Portastudio from Tascam can track up to 8 sources simultaneously with support for up to 32 tracks on playback. It features eight combo XLR-1/4" mic preamplifier inputs, with the eighth input also supporting Hi-Z sources such as guitar and bass. The recorder has 12 selectable tracks between MONO or STEREO. Use a STEREO track for recording synthesizer, or set the track to MONO when recording guitar or vocal. Not only that, you can create independent settings for each track (set #9 to #12 STEREO, then set #13 to #22 MONO)

A: No direct VGA external monitor output of any sort but once you are done with recording, you can always import the wav's through USB and play them in your computer with the software of your choice (VGA or HDTV screen as you wish) hope it helps!

A: You can't pitch shift on the device itself. However, you could export the tracks to a computer, open the files up in audacity or some DAW and pitch shift it there. You could then import the tracks back in and continue tracking/mixing. That's the only way I can think of that might work while still mostly using the Portastudio.

A: The answer is yes .Of Course you have all the 8 recorded tracks showing individually on your sd card (after shutdown if you do that) even the deleted ones can be retrieved.May I suggest to you, that the best way is to use the USB cord, then go to your options and choose USB connection, that way you don't have to remove the card from the slot, because Tascam as a serious warning, does not recommend to use the recorder without a card inside! So be sure the recorder is completely shutdown before attempting to access the card thru another machine or computer because your card is already formatted for the DP32-SD, so caution should be used before doing this.
