A: Am answering anyway: my drive came in a really nice full blown retail looking box but the drive was not pre-formatted and there were NO instructions at all in that box. My GUESS is that this is as close to an "OEM model" as you are going to get. If you "need" an actual OEM model; ie, packaged in the old style of nothing but a plastic sheath used for shipping to distributors in-mass, this is probably it except for the box - just take your pick. Maybe someone else will actually have the 100 percenter.

A: Mac OS X doesn't limit hard drive size, so it should be fine. The G5 is ancient in terms of computers, of course, but should run fine. I've used external enclosures with 2TB Barracuda drives on a MacPro laptop with a G4 processor.
