Q: 1. Is there a mode to set the flash to auto-off after a period of non-use to save batteries?

A: The MR-14EX II can be set to auto-off using the Custom Functions feature C.Fn.01. Please refer to page 61 in the manual for step by step instructions: http://bit.ly/2caYHdW

Q: 3. Hi, I am planning to buy Tamron Telephoto SP AF 180mm f/3.5 Di LD IF Macro Autofocus Lens for Canon EOS and wondering if this ring flash will fit and work on this lens or can you please specify what adaptor to use if I need one?

A: Yes, the Canon MR-14EX flash unit can be attached to the Tamron 180mm f3.5 macro lens using a special adapter ring made by Canon to fit on lenses with a 72mm sized filter diameter. See the link below for details on the required adapter ring: http://bhpho.to/JyRTj2

Q: 4. I want to shoot portraits with this. Is it large enough to use the Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 lens? Or the Sigma 50 1.4 Art lens?

A: This flash is not compatible with Sigma lenses.

Q: 5. What's the difference between the version I and version II models of the MR-14EX flash?

A: The Canon MR-14EX II has a redesigned user-interface to match the rest of the Canon speedlite line-up, half-stop adjustments instead of full-stop adjustments, faster recycling times, 12 custom functions (up from 7).

Q: 6. Can I use this with the Tamron 90mm macro lens.

A: You can use the Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 VC USD Lens for Canon EF with the Canon MR-14EX II Macro Ring Lite with your Canon DSLR camera. Remember that the Tamron uses 62mm filter thread, so to adapt it to a lens with a 62mm filter thread size, you would need to purchase the 67mm adapter ring for the flash and then use a 62-67mm step-up ring to connect to that. Q: 7. I'm planning to use it with the 100mm 2.8 L, and leave the suggested 67 macrolite adaptor always on the lens, will the original lens cap still work? or should I buy another?

A: Yes, you can adapt the Canon MR-14EX II Macro Ring Lite to other lenses via the use of a step-up/down ring with a Macrolite adapter. Please be aware that with some lenses this might cause a slight vignetting, but apart from that, usage should be relatively seamless.
