This sound bar replaced a receiver based system wit rear speakers and a sub. It performs and sounds better.

Purchased the ARC to replace a Bose unit that had served its purpose. We wanted improved dialogue clarity and good sound. The dialogue clarity is outstanding. We were initially disappointed in the music reproduction, sports broadcast clarity for both football and hockey. Some other concerns as well. Read the directions, used the app. Tried to get it working as we had hoped. Let me add this bit of background. The room it is 1200 square feet, ceiling height varies from10 feet to 20 feet. There are angled surfaces. After trying all remedies I could find, I attempted an on line chat, some how couldn't make progress ran a diagnostic and sent it in. Then called SONOS customer service. Reached a person almost immediately, from that point we made progress. Sounded better. Not long after that a software update was downloaded. Sounded much better. Apparently our concerns were not unique to our installation. Found an article on line. The article says SONOS responded to customer concerns and provided a solution. Much happier with the sound as it has evolved. Next step is to add a sub which we planned on doing originally. Happy with our purchase.

I have been a proud owner of the Sonos Playbar. I have always loved it. I have been thinking about upgrading to an arc but honestly the price was a little more than I wanted to pay. I finally but the bullet and bought an arc through the upgrade program. What a great decision! It arrived in 2 days and what an amazing unit. Sound is much better than the playbar . The 5.1 surrounds and atmosphere makes you feel like your in the middle of the action and the voice enhancement is great. I even love the voice control feature. Sonos- this is a A+++++++ unit!

The price put me off for so long, but finally ordered one and now just hating for how long it took to pull the trigger. The Arc is the best for creating a wide sound stage in my apartment and paired with the sub mini gives the home theater experience I've been looking for. If your on the fence, just go ahead a do it.

We have it paired with the mini sub and we find ourselves picking specific movies and music so that we can really get the fully effect. After listening to it family and friends are wanting to bring over movies or come over and rent ones that we know that the sound will make the movie an entirely different experience.
