A: The Backlight 18L is set up more for serious hiking. This bag has a heavily padded waist strap for supporting the weight of a fully loaded bag on a long hike. The waist strap puts some of the weight on the bag on the hips and takes some of the strain off of the shoulders and back.

A: You have to be careful with the answers given, I bought the 26L size and yet I am being asked about the 18L. The 26L holds the 15 Macbook Pro nice and snugly, I cannot see the 18L being able to do the same. That being said, I am very happy with the 26L and found the size not overwhelming. Many are surprised it is a camera bag.
