Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Where is the manual for this product? We have this product and are looking for manuals.
A: Unfortunately there is no manual available from the manufacturer.
Q: 2. How good is the XLR to 3.5mm cable? Could this potentially work with the Zoom H1 without too much hiss?
A: Hi the XLR to 3.5mm cable works, but you would want to replace it straight away. Very little cost to do this, couple of Dollars. The mic works well and you can phantom power it (48v), or runs a very long time on one AA battery. I use a Zoom H1 and had no problems. There is a design fault with the mic switch. I have bought three and use all of them but the switch disintegrates if you don't take lots of care with it.Best to run it on phantom power then you don't need to operate the switch. Of course not possible with a Zoom H1
Q: 3. Can this shotgun mic be used with a Sony UTX-P1 wireless transmitter?
A: This plug-on transmitter will work with this mic but does not provide phantom power. The mic must be powered by one AA battery.
Q: 4. how to replace the battery?
A: First remove the microphone from the shock mount, then the battery compartment is on the bottom you just have to unscrew it. This microphone can also be powered with 48v Phantom power.
Q: 5. Can this item be used with a Sony UTX-P1 transmitter
A: This plug-on transmitter will work with this mic but does not provide phantom power. The mic must be powered by one AA battery.
Q: 6. Hi, can this be used as a copy stand? shooting straight down. Is the center column reversible? I don't understand how the low-angle option works. Thanks for any advice!
A: The Sunpak TravelSmart Digital Tripod cannot be used as a copy stand, and the center column is not reversible. In terms of the low-angle option, at the top of the legs, there are little locks that can spin to the side which enable the legs to go from 45 to 75 degrees. The center column is then split, and so you can unscrew the bottom half of the center column to get the tripod closer to the ground.
Q: 7. Hi, is it good also for Salut C lenses?
A: Yes. The FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter with Generation v10 Focus Confirmation Chip for Kiev 88 Screw-Mount Lens to Canon EF or EF-S Mount Camera will also work with Salut C lenses.
Q: 8. Vidpro XM-88 can pick up the sound of small group of choir (10 to 20 people) in small church? Should I use two XM-88 for picking up short and long distance choir?
A: For most show choirs up to 24 voices we typically set up two shotgun microphones about 6 feet in from the edge of the choir on a 24 to 30 ft stage and 4 ft in front. We set the mic height at 7 ft to 8 ft angled in slightly from the sides to capture half the singers with each mic.Position two mics equidistant from the choir placements. Experiment with the distance from the choir and the separation of the mics in relation to each other.
Q: 9. Can i mount an Einstein or a Bowens strobe on this unit ?
A: I do not believe so, the focusing rod adapter that connects the the light to the focusing rod only works with a broncolor light. But I think you could use one of your lights in the rear of the Para 88 with a speed ring made for one of your strobe lights, but you would lose the focusing control. I hope this info was a help to you, Steven
Q: 10. What are the differences between the XM-88 and the cheaper XM-55, and would it be worth the extra $25 for the XM-88?
A: The XM-88 offers wider frequency response, and two cardioid patterns,. It is also longer for a more directional pick-up.
