I love the look of this lens. I had a Fuji 56mm but decided to sell it as I wasnt really using it. Something about it just did not click with me. But this Voigtlander is really nice to operate. I love the build quality, mechanical feel, manual focus and the bokeh is nice too.

This Voigtlander 58mm f1.4 lens is fabulous. It is extremely sharp and the bokeh is wonderful. I tested this lens compared to other 50mm lens I own (Nikkor 50mm 1.4 non-Ai, Nikkor 50 mm 2.0 Ai, Nikkor 50mm 1.8D, Fujifilm 35mm f2.0 WR). The Voigtlander was a clear winner. I will use this on my Fujifilm X-E2, X-t1 and Nikon D600.

I read a lot about this product, then followed by watching a ton of videos on Youtube about it. I finally decided to purchase the lens and couldn't be happier. Simply put...THIS LENS IS AWESOME! I've primarily been using it to shoot families, babies, and engagements, and it really adds a lot more character to my photos that I have not been able to achieve before.

I use this fantastic lens on both my Nikon and Sony cameras. I use it with the Novoflex adapter on my Sony a7r3 and it works perfectly. I use this Voigtlander in preference to the Sony/Zeiss 55mm lens whenever I don't need auto focus. Like many other low element count lenses, there is heavy chromatic aberration wide open. I tend to use lenses like this at one stop down from maximum aperture where CA is much less than wide open and use the lens wide open in only low light situations. It's a price I'm very willing to pay for beautiful, high fidelity images.

When using the lens on the Novoflex adapter, the meter coupling prong sticks up in the middle of the adapter/lens combo which is not a convenient place to have it sticking up.�I removed the meter coupling prong from my Voigtlander 58mm Nokton. The screws were reinserted and tighten and the aperture ring operation was not affected. The screws came out cleanly using my Starrett 0-1 Phillips screw driver. The screws are undamaged. And, while the procedure went smoothly for me, I would suggest that you not try this yourself unless you have experience handling a small screwdriver and small screws. It does require a specific technique in order to not damage the screws.

On Nikon set aperture to F/22 for shutter release aperture control or use live mode and set aperture electronically prior to exposure.

Stunning bokeh along with a smooth focusing ring. I would recommend getting the lens hood component also. You really can't be disappointed by this purchase, remember it manual focus, fanstastic lens and metal build quality. No plastic here.

This is a beautiful lens of rare quality and craftsmanship. The focus ring is silky smooth. The subjects are crisp and pop out of the image. The bokeh has the much desired soap bubble effect of most vintage lenses. The high quality glass is what you'd expect from a Pro type lens.

I bought this manual lens off of a recommendation. It is truly amazing and an exquisite piece of glass. It's my first manual lens and I am really digging the retro look to it. On my d500 crop sensor it's a perfect lens for portrait. The 9 blades for aperture render beautiful bokeh. I highly recommend this lens.
