A: Yes, using the micro usb. I connect it to an external battery bank for time lapse video. You will not be able to use it with the waterproof case.

A: I connected a mini HDMI cable from the camera to my HD TV showing live action on the TV, but not for recording it. Also, just to note from experience, although the camera has 4K recording capability, the playback from a movie at that resolution can only be shown on a 4K UHD TV.
