Extend the reach of your wireless data network with this 2-pack of AMY-9M16 900 MHz YAGI Antennas from Ubiquiti Networks. This antenna operates on the 902-928 MHz frequency range and offers a gain of 16 dBi in both polarizations. With dual linear polarization the antenna is capable of directing the wireless network signal in two directions rather than one like many similar antennas. The antenna is also designed to hold up against harsh weather conditions as it comes equipped with an outdoor UV stabilized plastic enclosure and a pole mounting kit to withstand winds of up to 120 mph. Inside the enclosure you will find a 400 MHz Atheros MIPS 24KC processor backed up by 64MB SDRAM and 8MB Flash memory to ensure smooth operation.

The airMAX 900 MHz YAGI is a high-gain array antenna designed to seamlessly integrate with the Rocket M900 radio (sold separately). It features enhanced range performance 12+ mi (20+ km) and breakthrough speed (90+ Mbps real TCP/IP). The Rocket M900 combines the "brains" in one robust unit; it can be paired with the airMAX 900 MHz YAGI (AMY-9M16) or airMax 900 MHz BaseStation (AMS 900-120-13) antennas (sold separately). This versatility gives architects improved flexibility and convenience to create powerful 2x2 MIMO PtP bridging or 2x2 MIMO PtMP BaseStation solutions.

Unlike the standard WiFi protocol, Ubiquiti's Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) airMAX protocol allows each client to send and receive data using pre-designated time slots

scheduled by an intelligent AP controller. This "time slot" method eliminates hidden node collisions and maximizes air time efficiency.

The Rocket M900 radio (sold separately) and airMAX YAGI antenna have been designed to seamlessly work together.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this device support PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)?

A: Yes, this switch supports Passive PoE passthrough

Q: 2. Are the ports isolated from each other using separate NICs?

A: Port isolation can be achieved by creating VLAN assignments for each port. That is done via router configuration.

Q: 3. How many are in this kit?

A: There are 10 included.

Q: 4. I have a UAP-AC-M on my barn with a weak signal to my home aprox 200 feet away through two thin walls, would this be effective in extending wifi to my barn?

A: It is possible but without testing it, it would be trial and error. Ideally a wireless bridge would work better if you have line of sight to the barn, that would give you the best performance wirelessly if running a cable is not possible.

Q: 5. Will this power the UAP-AC-PRO-E access point?

A: No. The UAP-AC-Pro (and the essentially identical UAP-AC-Pro-E) operate from 48 V POE. The ER-X operates from 24 V. The ER-X can supply POE power to one access point, but not one of the PRO series. However, you might find that the power supply provided with the ER-X is not beefy enough to provide power to both the ER-X and the access point. There is a more powerful power adapter available that allows the ER-X to provide POE power to an access point (but only a 24 V one).

Q: 6. Which wireless access point would you recommend to pair this with? Thank you

A: I use a UAP-AC-Lite. The 24v POE injector from the AP can power the router as well as the access point through the pass thru port.

Q: 7. Can this router be configured to support dual WAN?

A: Yes, the Ubiquiti Networks ER-X EdgeRouter X BH #UBERX can be configured for dual WAN.

Q: 8. Will this pass vlans to the network on the other side?

A: Yes it can be done.

Q: 9. Up to how many mile can the antenna reach?

A: The manufacturer ha snot specified the range on this device as it is wholly dependent on too may factors such as obstacles, wind and line of sight.

Q: 10. I'm trying to pick up a Wi-Fi signal between 3 and 4 miles away. The city I live and send off a signal for customers in town and I am obviously out of town wondering if this would work

A: You would not be able to use the RocketDish to pickup a standard WiFi signal. You would need one to send, and another to receive.

Great to provide a short distance focused directional hop when combined with CO an AC Mesh. This one requires a POE wired backhaul and the AC Mesh just needs POE power

Used it to link buildings 3/4 mile apart and it works. ubiquity should create a better alignment tool so it should be easier to set up the point to point

I used to to extend the range between 2 Unifi AP mesh points one on the camp and another about 1000 feet down a right of way so we can have Internet coverage while down by the lake, after changing the standards antenna for this my speed nearly doubled and things the internet access is now rock solid. With this antenna I may not even need the other mesh AP anymore

For that tricky spot a long way away, this antenna is clutch. Tested mine at approximately 1000m, still got download upload easy. Line of sight is critical though.

I had to upgrade my UAP-AC-M I have it outside to communicate with my gate camera about 150' away. I was disappointed that the stock antennas don't reach that far. Part of the problem is my camera only has an internal antenna. This was able to get it a nice boost and don't seem to have any issues connecting now.

This dish is great for the 5GHz distance links. A nice step up from the 30dBi dish.
