Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work well with my A6500? The camera has good stabilization--will that be enough to stabilize this camera for video on the A6500 with an adapter?

A: Enough stabilization for what? Shoot on a tripod and you're golden! But if you're asking if it will for video, yes if you know what you're doing. Press your left hand on the underside of the lens, right hand on the trigger side, elbows tucked in against your body, and your eye against the view finder. This position will do more then a lens with IS built into it. Unless you have Parkensons desease then no you should get the L series for the built in IS.

Q: 2. I pre-ordered a GH5 and plan on buying a Metabones Speedbooster so I can use this lens, which one will work best the XL or Ultra?

A: Get the Ultra .71x Canon to Micro 4/3 Speedbooster. The GH5 (I also ordered one) has a 2x crop in all resolutions and the XL may cause vignetting on certain lenses.

Q: 3. How does this lens compare with Rokinon 14 mm f/2.8 not taking shots of the night sky, i.e., stars, Milky Way, Aurora borealis, etc.?

A: The Rokinon 14mm is a great choice for astrophotography due its price, low amounts of comatic aberration, its extremely wide FOV, and its compatibility with full-frame and APS-C cameras. In contrast, while the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 is an incredible lens, it's price point, higher coma, narrower field of view (also due to its APS-C format) make it circumstantially less well-reviewed in these endeavors.

Q: 4. Will this lens work on my Eos M50 with the adapter?

A: Yes this lens is compatible with the M50.

Q: 5. Este lente sirve para la Sony a6500 ?

A: No, this is for the A mount, not the E mount.

Q: 6. Can this lens be sent back to B&H to fix the AF problem ?

A: I believe you can return for an exchange or get your money back if it's defective or not working properly.. check out B&H policy on product purchase for this. Ultimately you can contact sigma USA also.

Q: 7. Will this work with: LUMIX GH4 and GX8?

A: No. This lens has a Canon EOS mount. Panasonic uses a Micro 4/3 mount. Sigma does not make this lens with a Micro 4/3 mount.

Q: 8. This time I will try to make the question better. The glasses used on the 18-35mm f1.8 Sigma Photo Lens are the same glasses used on the 18-35mm T2 Sigma Cine Lens?

A: No, these are vastly different lenses and do not use the same glass.

Q: 9. Will this work with a Canon EOS M50 2

A: To use Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens for Canon EF with the Canon M50 II you will need an adapter like this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/983576-REG/vello_lae_cm_cef_auto_lens_adapter_for.html

Q: 10. Will this mount on an alpha 390 (DSLR -A390L)?

A: You would need a Canon to A mount adapter for this. I'm not sure how it would but try this one: FotodioX Pro Lens Mount AdapterGood luck. Curious to know how this works out!

This lens truly is the Best of the Beat, when it come to a cinematic lens for my BlackMagic Picket 4K! Zoom element is all internal so when I’m using it on a gimbal, balance is maintained.
Amazing footage, crystal clear images..no complaints.

This lens is really special. The results are spectacular.
The only drawback is the lack of image stablization.

I haven't used this lens for stills yet, but for video with my c300 setup. The close focus is awesome. I can focus on my hand inside my mattebox.

Sigma has turned up the heat and rumors have it have they plan on turning it up even more... This lens is a dream come true.. Rock solid build, spot on fast focus, excellent IQ, and outrageous low cost.. What more could you ask for in a lens of this price range.. Probably a lot less, but with Sigma you get much more than one would expect.. I have much confidence in focusing and IQ of this lens and feel it performs as well, if not better than Canon L lenses.. Try it out.. You will not be disappointed..

Just received this lens from B&H. Before I give you my first impressions, B&H service was outstanding as always. Once again I was reminded why I have purchased all of my equipment from them. However, before I am accused of being a troll, let me give you my first impressions of this lens. Ok, first of all this lens is a tank. It feels and looks like a solid piece of lustrous metal. I have never held a Carl Zeiss lens but I bet this is what one feels like. The focus ring is really smooth while the zoom ring is extremely precise. So far the focus has been spot on despite other reviews that talk about how it is inconsistent. I took a shot at f/2.8 in a dark enough room that the shutter speed was 1/8. The AF did not hunt nor did it miss on the over 45 original test shots I took. The color rendition was nice and warm and the bokeh smooth and creamy. Having said that, I have yet to try it on full sunlight and at a higher aperture, but I cannot wait because I feel that this lens will deliver high quality. I must say that so far I think that this is a great value given its price. Nice job Sigma! Well played.
