The 77mm Skyeye Magnetic Multicoated UV Filter from Kase is a general-use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast is created, so no exposure adjustments are required. Made of tempered, shock-resistant optical glass, it includes multiple layers of anti-reflection multicoating to prevent internal ghosting and reflections, while enhancing clarity and color fidelity. The filter surface features Easy Clean Top Coat resistance coating to repel water, oil, dust, fingerprint, and mild abrasions.

The magnetic filter ring screws onto any 77mm front filter thread and allows up to four additional magnetic filters to be stacked on front. This protective filter can remain attached to a lens as a constant layer of protection, but that still allows additional magnetic filters to be attached and removed much more quickly than traditional threaded filters. In addition, the ring is threaded to accept standard threaded filters and lens caps. Skyeye filters are compatible with other magnetic filter systems, including Wolverine, Freewell, and Haida.

Q: 1. Does this lens have a third stop of 2.5 between the half stop 2.4 and the full stop 2.8?

A: No, just 2.4,2.8. However, as an additional comment, I would like to add this lens is sharp! It is said to have slow autofocus by some. However, I do not know anyone serious w/ macro wanting autofocus anyway. I have been shooting since 1963, and manual focusing has always worked for me, with few exceptions. Want fancy bells and whistles..pay for it! I'm extremely satisfied w/ Fuji glass and the X-T2. Also have the 16-55 f/2.8 and that baby rocks!

Q: 2. Can someone recommend a good protective filter for this lens?

A: The B+W 77mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter would be recommended. This is very well made with excellent quality glass. http://bhpho.to/2flQdAS

Q: 3. Step-down filter-thread ring (77 to 72mm) to avoid buying a new super-expensive Zeiss Polarizing-filter(a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/197714-REG/Heliopan_700405_700405_Step_Down_Ring.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/197714-REG/Heliopan_700405_700405_Step_Down_Ring.html/a)seems more the just doable as I look on my g-Master 85mm since the 77mm seems somewhat oversized, -2.5mm narrower (5mm divided by 2) it looks like it will not jet infringe the light-pass of this mild tl.. Any strong points of view against this option ?

A: I haven't seen these adapters, interesting idea. 5mm is not a big number, but since the beauty of this lens is its big aperture, I wouldn't want to lose even the small bit of light that i think will result with that collar on.

Q: 4. Does this lens have a metal mount?

A: Yes, the Panasonic Lumix G 25mm f/1.7 lens has a metal lens mount.

Q: 5. At what focal length does the maximum magnification occur?

A: The Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 maximun magnification of 0.17x occurs at the 24mm. The lens minimun focus distance is 1.15' / 35 cm.

Q: 6. Is this lens compatible with the DJI Zenmus X5?

A: It is a MFT mout I do believe the DJI Zenmus X5 has the same mount but would double check

Q: 7. Is the auto-focus speed faster than the 20mm?

A: most definitely YES

Q: 8. How much better in low light is this than the Panasonic 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 in terms of what ISO the camera needs to be set to get the same results?

A: It is roughly 2 stops of difference if compared to the F3.5 at 14mm of the 14-42mm lens, so if you are at 400 iso on the camera with the 3.5 in 14mm of the 14-42 then you can be at 100 iso with the F1.7 with the 25mm lens.

Q: 9. Does the image stabilization work for video as well or just for photos?

A: It seems to work well for both.

Q: 10. Is the image quality on this lens better than the Sony 85mm Zeiss version?

A: I had the Batis 85, a very good and light lens, but the Sony is better, even if it is heavier.
