A: Hi Justin, The legs arrived folded flat (nested). The top leg does not slide. However, once it was assembled, I was not able to arrange the legs at any other angles than what you see in the photo. I had hoped to move the center pole closer to a wall by rearranging the legs, however this was not possible.

A: The tripod spreader and legs work much better. The QR plate changed from a top release to a Manfrotto standard. The head's settings are more precise.

A: I have an older model Gitzo and they fit fine. They are more warmers to keep hands off the cold metal, the padding is thin. But that being said they don't interfere with the center column.

A: Those two are not similar C stands. The silver one is a sliding leg. The black one linked is a turtle base.

A: The GimBoom has a 1/4 20" and a 3/8 16" mounting screw built into it. This will allow you to mount a ball head or fluid video head to the GimBoom.
