The Canon EF-mount Tokina 65mm T1.5 Cinema Vista Prime Lens provides an image circle that more than covers full-frame sensors and is designed to provide sharp images even when recording images at 8K resolution. It features a fast maximum T-stop of 1.5 that is perfect for shooting in low-light situations or creating exceedingly shallow depth of field looks.

This 65mm lens is etched with focus marks in feet and shares the same form factor, lens gear position, and front barrel diameter as the other Cinema Vista prime lenses, enabling quick on-set lens changes. The 9-bladed, curved iris provides round, out-of-focus highlights for a natural-looking bokeh.

A 46.7mm image circle easily covers standard-sized full-frame sensors, including sensors with full 8K resolution

A super-fast T1.5 aperture is perfect for low-light capture and shallow depth of field effects

Near-zero focus breathing; extremely important while pulling focus, especially on static shots, where focus breathing is more noticeable

A generous 300° focus barrel rotation enables smooth and precise focus pulls

Produces high-resolution, low-distortion images for your cinema-style capture

Aspherical elements and lens coatings help to greatly limit chromatic aberrations, helping to produce optimal image quality

All-metal lens housing with 0.8 MOD gears that are compatible with cine-style FIZ systems

The use of a 9-blade, curved iris produces a pleasing bokeh, referring to natural-looking out-of-focus areas of the image

Markings on both sides of the barrel make it easy to read focus and aperture settings from behind or from either side of the camera

Shares the same front lens diameters and gear positioning on the focus and iris rings as the other lenses in the series, making lens switching quick and convenient

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the image circle size (mm) for this series of lenses?

A: The Rokinon Xeen 50mm T1.5 Lens for Canon EF Mount is part of the Xeen series. The company says all of them cover full frame which has a diameter of 43.27mm.

Q: 2. Since this is a manual lens, what adapter do I need to get this to fit an EF mount cam?

A: As the flange distance between an EF mount to sensor (more distance) and Micro-Four Thirds/MFT (less distance) mount to sensor varies, an EF mount lens can be mounted to a MFT mount (with adapter), however an MFT mount lens will unfortunately not be able to be mounted to an EF mount, with an adapter. If there was such an adapter, the lens would likely also vignette with its MFT mount, it is a smaller mount opening. In short, the Rokinon 35mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount, would not be compatible with an EF mount camera.

Q: 3. How does the focus work? Like is it still manual or will it work with Blackmagic's bluetooth app for pulling focus?

A: This is a cinema lens that only has manual focus. There is a focus ring, marked in feet, to manually adjust focus. This lens will not electronically pull focus.

Q: 4. Can I use this lens on lumix g7

A: Yes, this is an MFT mount lens. It will work with the Lumix G7.

Q: 5. There seems to be a version2 of the same lens out there. What's the difference?

A: The version Samyang 24mm T1.5 VDSLRII Cine Lens for Canon EF Mount B&H # SA24T15C lists improved optics and coatings over the Samyang 24mm T1.5 Cine Lens for Canon EF-Mount B&H # SA2415C.

Q: 6. is this the new Xeen cinema prime lenses optimized for 4K that were just announced?

A: Please see link for all the new Xeen Cine Lenses currently available.http://bhpho.to/1L38rS8The Xeen line represents a huge leap in making true cine style lenses available for indie filmmakers. Beating some of the more expensive competition, the Xeen line covers Full Frame, not just Super35. While there is no mention about 4K compatibility at this time, it is my opinion these will perform well with 4K cameras.

Q: 7. Does it come with a lens hood?

A: A detachable petal shaped lens hood is included.

Q: 8. Can lenses be changed over to other mounts?

A: There is no official manufacturer information regarding this. However, it is my opinion that the lenses can be converted. However, this should only be done by a qualified technician and not by a user in the field.

Q: 9. Can I used for photography purposes? what's the difference between a photo lens?

A: It can be used for photos, however you will be unable to autofocus at all since there are no electronic connections with the camera. This will perform similarly to other Rokinon manual lenses, but what makes it designed for video is the focusing gears for use with a follow focus system. If you're using this for photos keep in mind those gears may be uncomfortable to focus with your hand. Another difference is the de-clicked aperture ring that is measured in T-stops instead of F-Stops. No clicks means a smooth change of light coming in so exposure changes don't look choppy in video. T stops are an actual measurement of light that comes through the lens, whereas F stops are ratios and an f/1.4 may let more or less light in from lens to lens. The numbers will still yield similar results, so T/1.5 on this lens is close to an F/1.4 or 1.8 on a photo lens, just a different method of marking it. This lens can also be a little long and heavy depending on what you're pairing it with (would look ridiculous on an a6500 or something small), so another option is the newer Rokinon AF 35mm that might be better for photos and is much more compact

Q: 10. Does this lenses support auto focus?

A: I don't think so, as far as I know this is a completely manual lens...but she's a dandy!
