A: According to Atoch you will need to use an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter and connect this to a Thunderbolt 3 self-powered device like a dock. Then you can plug the TX-1CXQ to the Thunderbolt 3 dock or self-powered device. The reason you need to do this is because the Thunderbolt 2 port doesn’t have enough power to power a Thunderbolt 3 bus powered device.

Q: 6. Will these cards work with the Arri Alexa Mini? I know the angelbird branded 512gb cards work, im curious if these will too

A: It is not recommended to use RED DIGITAL CINEMA 512GB RED PRO CFast 2.0 Memory Card (2-Pack) cards on the ARRI ALEXA Mini as they are not certified and may have failures.

Q: 7. Can you attach the remote top handle on top of this monitor and maintain run/stop capability?

A: Unfortunately, it is not possible to mount the RED DIGITAL CINEMA DSMC3 RED Touch 7.0" LCD Monitor and the top handle at the same time.

Q: 8. Is the choice between this card and the equally-priced, Red-approved AV PRO or Exascend really so simple as to be settled by the fact that one has a top speed of 280 MB/s while the others sit at around ~500?

A: The RED CFast card has special firmware that is customized for the RED DSMC3 camera bodies to provide additional reliability when recording. Other than the firmware it is essentially the same CFast as the Anglebird AV Pro. In fact, if you look at the back of the card you will see that RED partnered with Angelbird to develop the CFast card (you can find more info on that here https://bit.ly/3mYojjn). If you plan to use CFast card for one of the RED DSMC3 camera bodies then the RED branded card offers slightly more reliability than the others cards. If you plan to use the card with other cameras then there is no benefit to choosing the RED branded card.

A: At this moment we do not have a screen protector that is designed for the new RED DIGITAL CINEMA DSMC3 RED Touch 7.0" LCD Monitor.
