Purchased to replace a Stealth-PZFI controller that has the small thumb control for zoom. That wasn't so convenient after I upgraded to a Panasonic PX270 that has a very sensitive variable-speed zoom lens. The PZFI has a nice big rocker that allows more precise control. It works perfectly and makes operating my cameras on a tripod much easier.

Did my first shoot with this & found it very important for zoom & record. Focus function a little too quick. Will Easley go by focus point with my Canon XH A1S. Over all I am pleased.

I have purchased 3 zooms first was a Varizoom 10 years ago and it has never failed. The second zoom I bought was not a Varizoom and it does not work nearly as well the oom is not as smooth nor do I like the feel of the control itself. I regret it and now have replaced it with another VariZoom. Comparing the older varizoom to the newer one the quality and build are the same they have not made it cheaper or flimsier like so many other products of all kinds are doing today.

I debated getting the single controller with zoom/focus/iris or going with dual controllers. But I'm very happy I purchased this one. The zoom rocker is quite good and makes it easy to ramp in and out of zooming. Overall I think it is an excellent choice for a zoom controller.

I purchased this controller to use with my Sony NX5 Camcorder and VariZoom Media Rig for sports videography. I've used it just two times and the results are wonderful. The Media Rig took the weight of the camera and the Rocker made my transitions much, much smoother.

I use this unit with one of my Sony camcorders I have acquired several VariZoom's over the years and have never had a problem. As the cameras changed my Varizoom's stayed the same and have never failed. I have the all aluminum body units the PG style and the Rock ABS unit for lanc and one for a Panasonic camera . I have different VariZoom's and they all have performed well.

Sometimes getting to the on-camera focus or iris control isn't convenient. This device works great with Panasonic cameras that have two cable jacks. There is a Automatic/Manual switch for both the focus and Iris, but that caveat is that when you go to manual, the focus/iris will instantly change to whatever position the encoder wheel is set to. It does not hold the auto setting.

Immediately this remote lens control exceeded my expectations, though I have not tried other brands. The bottom line is that it performs more smoothly than the EX3's built-in rocker, which makes it worth the purchase for me. The EX3's zoom motor is far from smooth, but this rocker feathers in much better, though not perfect. I do wish the rocker's internal spring activated the motor a bit earlier - you have to lean into it 50% or more before seeing any zoom - but there is still enough range to work with. The rocker knob is comfortably wide. You must become accustomed to lateral thumb movement instead of forward-backward, but I see no reason one could not rotate the mount to use two fingers instead. The speed dial is critical to adjust the zoom speed, which affects the sensitivity. A lower speed (dial down counterclockwise) makes it feel more sensitive because it will not go to a high zoom speed. Dialed up clockwise increases jerkiness but is necessary for pop zooms (still not as fast as manual barrel control). I like to hold the rocker all the way down each way continuously while adjusting the knob to set the ideal speed for the situation. Longer lens shots are usually set more counterclockwise (slower). Make sure you strap the cable down or it can become caught between the main body and the rocker knob while shooting! The record button is an under-rated plus; being able to keep your hand in one place really helps keep your concentration on the monitor and the shot, especially if operating with both hands. In this price range I don't think it could be much better, especially given the EX3's limited motor control.

The Rock J600 Is the most Awesome piece of equipment ever developed.. For filming Hunts, it eliminates movement back and forth from tripod handle to the camera, everything at your fingertips right there on the handle. Recommended to all Hunters filming their own hunts.

I use this product for zooming in and out while broadcasting basketball games. It's a must have if you need to zoom quickly and a lot.
