This 1" x 150' Gummed Linen Hinging Tape from Lineco is used to mount photographs and artwork to mounting boards and hinge together museum boards to create window mats. Book spines or maps can also be repaired and kept together by using the hinging tape.

The linen tape is water-activated, which creates a strong adhesive, but also allows it to come apart easily when water is reapplied. The acid-free linen tape is pH neutral and the fabric has a 65 / 55 thread count. As a result, the linen and adhesive have a stronger hold on larger pieces of art.

A: The box you've selected will work, any binder that is larger in width than 10.5" will work.

Q: 6. Are these suitable for 24 x 36 poster prints? I need to mount posters on a stage set without damaging the posters.

I can't seem to find this fantastic tape anywhere in town anymore. Neither the big craft stores or the photo dealers carry it any more. Thank God for B&H. I like this stuff as it works perfectly and does just the job I want to do. 5

It is essential that when framing you use non-acid materials. Linen tape is used to attach your photograph or paper artwork to the matt. The fibers in the tape make it easy to remove the tape from your art without tearing the print if for some reason you wish to do so. The glue must be moistened but is acid free and the tape is linen. I have been framing works for over 40 years and always use linen tape. 5

Used to reattach the backing on a mirror. The tape is easy to use, passing it through a saucer of water to wet. Gets very sticky and conforms to clips and nails holding the glass. 5

I use this tape to hinge photos to mat-board - I usually work with 5x7's, 8x10's, and 11x14's, and have had zero issues. This tape creates a strong bond and could also easily hold larger sizes. Plus, with a substantial 150 feet of it, it's hard to find a better deal. 5

I need a strong adhesive to mount panoramic photographs and artists tape was just not cutting it. A friend suggested Linen Tape. It has a heavy duty feel and when applied seems up to the job. Just wish I did not need to wet it to activate the gum but it is a small inconvenience when strength is what you're after. 5

For framing and mounting there is no substitute. This tape is the best and the 150-foot size is most economical. 5

I use this tape to secure margin foam pieces to the back of gesso board when I decide to mat a piece of my art. It goes on beautifully, is easy to handle, and looks, and stays looking, professional. I actually bought my first box of the Lineco Linen Tape from a hobby store at a price far higher than B&H charges (almost double). So I was particularly pleased to find the product available on-line from another source and ordered two boxes from B&H to keep on hand.. 5
