Dpa Microphones 4061 Core Low-sensitivity Omni Lavalier Microphone With Unterminated Pigtail Leads (beige)
- Product Code: ga205205
-
The beige DPA 4061 CORE with Unterminated Pigtail Leads is a miniature, moisture-resistant lavalier microphone designed for use with wireless systems for broadcast, performance, and theatrical applications. The low-sensitivity electret-condenser capsule can handle loud vocalists, speakers, and performers and delivers crisp, clear, and intelligible audio, while the rugged yet unobtrusive design is well suited to the demands of professional live stage work and presentations.
This version of the 4061 uses DPA's CORE technology to deliver a 4 dB increase in dynamic range and a 14 dB reduction in noise over the 4061 Legacy model. The mic includes two interchangeable capsule-protection grids that alter the sonic character of the microphone. The High-Boost Grid creates a peak at 12 kHz, helpful for chest placement, while the Soft-Boost Grid offers a subtle boost between 8 to 20 kHz, lightly enhancing signal presence to ensure clarity.
With an SPL rating of 144 dB, the microphone is more than capable of handling loud speakers, vocalists, and presenters. The mic can also be used very effectively to capture instruments—making it a flexible tool for houses of worship and live event productions. The 4061 CORE is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from a wireless transmitter and features unterminated pigtail leads allowing you to custom wire the mic to the connector of your choice.
For Theater, Film, TV, and Presentation Omnidirectional for Consistent Levels Unterminated Pigtails for Custom Wiring For Loud Speech/Vocals up to 144 dB SPL IP58-Certified Dust & Moisture Resistant CORE Increases Dynamics & Reduces Noise Modular Adapter System for Transmitters Requires 5 to 10V or Phantom Power Includes Soft- and High-Boost Grids

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Can I put another trs mic in the camera input?
A: You can, but the camera will, in that case, only capture the audio from the additional microphone and the Tascam recorder will record all of your other microphones. It would be best to consider a mini to XLR adapter to connect your TRS mic. If that TRS mic requires mic plugin power, you can use an adapter that will convert phantom power from the recorder, to mic plugin power for that compatibility, like the B&H # DEDXLR.
Q: 2. What's the best setting for DB levels on the line out to A7siii camera. If I set the tascam to +12 then it looks like camera can be at a volume setting of 3. Since the camera preamps are probably worse than the Tascam wouldn't this be best. I read elsewhere to set the Tascam so the camera ends up @ 8. What do you guys think?
A: We recommend using a level matching cable to pad the line level output signal from the Tascam DR-70D so it will provide a compatible signal level that will not overload the camera's mic input. The Sescom LN2MIC-ZOOMH4N Line to Microphone Attenuation Cable for HDSLR Cameras (B&H # SEL2MZH4N) will provide a -25 dB pad for the 70D's line level output and the Kopul ACH4-25MON Line-to-Mic Attenuator Cable (B&H # KOACH425MON) works in the same way and also includes a headphone tap.
Q: 3. can you monitor each channel input separated? like in the dr60
A: One online YouTube reviewer says this is not possible. I have not independently verified. This might change depending on firmware, although the capability would not be very useful if the feature cannot be utilized on the fly during recording, not simply presented by menu choices.
Q: 4. Can I use a Sennheiser ew 100 ENG G3 Wireless Microphone System Combo - B (626-668 MHz) with the DR-70D?
A: The Sennheiser Combo system ships with output cables that will allow you to connect the receiver to the Tascam DR70D via XLR or 3.5mm input jacks.
Q: 5. Has anyone actually recorded the looped output to a DSLR like a GH4, Nikon D800 or 5DmkII or III? If so, what settings on the DR-70 camera output and the camera's mic input did you use? The Nikon and Canon have best S/N if their manual inputs are set to 1. Can you adjust the DR-70's output to provide a good level on the camera with the camera input set to 1 ?
A: Yes, I went from the 70D to a Atomos Blade via the stereo mini line I/O. I used my FP24 mixer stereo mini to go to a Canon 70D via tape return so you will do fine.
Q: 6. Is the SanDisk 128GB Class 10 ExtremePRO SDXC Memory Card, U3, 95MB/s Read Speed a good option for the Tascam DR-70D? What is the optimum read speed in a SD card for this device? What is the SD card perfect match for the 70-D?
A: Speed Class indicate minimum writing performance. This is important mainly for camcorders, video recorders and other devices with video recording capabilities. Even a Class 4 card is sufficient for handling audio recording tasks. Tascam has officially tested Class 6 cards which function properly with this recorder.
Q: 7. Can a timestamp be put on when a recording begins?
A: While the Tascam DR-70D 6-Input / 4-Track Multi-Track Field Recorder with Onboard Omni Microphones does not have a timecode feature, recordings can be stamped with the date and time as set in the menu.
Q: 8. Can this be used as a sound with sound recorder? Could record two tracks, then add three and four while listening to the first two? [to add instruments or narration]?
A: Yes, the DR-70D is a 4-track multi-track recorder so you can overdub additional tracks.
Q: 9. Does the screen fold flat on the recorder or is it fixed in the angled position?
A: The screen is fixed in the angled position.
Q: 10. Can I record a stereo signal (Rde Stereo VMP with 3.5 mm jack) along with a mono shotgun (Rde VMP with 3.5mm-XLR adapter)? My whole interest in the DR-70D is to be able to do this. I know this unit has the right jacks, but I want to make sure there aren't any recording mode or software limitations that won't allow this.
A: Yes will work fine.
