  • For use in houses of worship, panels, boardroom applications, and videoconference situations, the DPA 4098 offers quick setup and delivers clear, pristine sound.
  • The mic reproduces crisp, intelligible speech and vocals up to the standards of demanding speakers, singers, and presenters.
  • The supercardioid polar pattern focuses audio capture tightly on the person directly in front of the mic, picking up less unwanted background sound and helping to reduce feedback when loudspeakers are used for sound reinforcement.
  • The microphone capsule's consistent off-axis response means that speaking into the side of the mic doesn’t make the audio sound worse, it just drops the voice level.
  • Even passionate speakers and vocalists are no problem for the 4098; the capsule can handle peak volumes of up to 135 dB SPL before distortion occurs.
  • The factory-mounted foam windscreen helps to reduce breath and plosive noise.
  • The versatile 4098 can also be used as an instrument microphone.

  • Elegantly designed, the low-profile appearance is well suited to videoconferencing and public announcements.
  • This version features a 48" boom with top and bottom gooseneck sections to provide optimal positioning.
  • The included floor stand has an integrated shock-mounting solution. The unique design allows for a long stage microphone boom pole that does not swing, but rapidly stabilizes itself after being positioned.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this standard molle/PALs webbing spacing? Will molle accessories like the f-stop Navin bag or random molle pouches attach?

A: Although the Think Tank Photo Pro Speed Belt V3.0 (32-42" Waist, Black) is compatible with most LensCoat Molle products, there is no information to indicate that it has standard molle/PAL grids.

Q: 2. What improvements were made over the V2 belt?

A: Version 3 offers a wider belt for much better lumbar support and comfort.

Q: 3. Can this be attached to the Rycote Softie pistol grip?

A: The Rycote INV-7 InVision Microphone Suspension can't work with the Rycote Softie Pistol Grip, because the flange is the wrong size. If you want a lyre mount with the pistol grip, check out BH #RYLMPG.

Q: 4. Does the Rycote INV-7 work with the Oktava MK 012 condenser mic? My Oktava is a fairly short microphone.

A: The Rycote InVision is compatible with mics that have a diameter of 19-25 mm and 70mm or above in length. This will include the Oktava MK 012 as well as many other short shotguns and small diaphragm condensers.

Q: 5. Is the HDMI connection on the monitor a Mini, or, regular size HDMI port?

A: Regular size HDMI port on the screen.

Q: 6. Will version 2 pouches work with this belt?

A: Yes the Think Tank Photo Pro Speed Belt V3.0 is compatible with Version 2 series pouches.

Q: 7. Would the INV-4 be the ideal shock mount size for the Audix 1250BHC?

A: Audix recommends their SMT-MICRO Shock Mount Stand Adapter (B&H# AUSMTMICRO) for use with the M1250B-HC and other Audix Micro Series microphones. Additionally, the SMT-MICRO is an item that we stock while the INV-4 is only available by special order and is not returnable.

Q: 8. Is this a good choice for the Shure VP88?

A: No, the Rycote INV-7 InVision Microphone Suspension for Stand and Boompole Mounting is not compatible for use with the Shure VP88 Stereo Condenser Microphone. The diameter of the VP88 is 39.7mm at the front, which is the widest part, and 27mm at the cable connection, which is the narrowest part. The INV-7 accommodates microphones that have a diameter of 19 to 25mm. The VP88 already has an internal shockmount that is designed to reduce handling noise and stand vibration, so you could use the stand adapter that comes included with the mic for most applications. If you feel that you need additional isolation, you can try the Rycote InVision INV-HG mkIII Microphone Suspension Lyre Shockmount (B&H # RYINVHGMKIII), which accommodates microphones with a diameter of 19 to 34mm and should work on the handle of the VP88.

Q: 9. Does somebody have first hand experience with how well this mount tackles handling noise when used with a Schoeps CMC641 with colette cable?

A: This Rycote should work well. The build quality is excellent. We have not tested the Rycote with this Schoeps mic.The mount below is designed specifically for this mic and may be the best choice:Schoeps A 20 S Elastic Suspension Swivel Shock Mount (Stiffer Elastic) B&H # SCA20S

Q: 10. Can this belt be fitted to the Streetwalker V2 backpack?

A: Hello. I use the belt with a large Ttank Holster. Very comfortable to wear for a long period of time even with huge camera & lens. According to their website there are 2 belts that can be used with The Streetwalker Bpack. The first is a simple strap you might find with any backpack. The second, Their belt is quick and easy to use if you leave it attached to your pack. One photog told me he wore one belt with 2 holsters holding 2 large cameras as he drove around Vietnam on a motorcycle. Recommended.

Easy to use. Great quality for the price. Previous KM stands I've used are simple to maintain/fix. Needed a fresh one, and it appears the quality is the same.

I have tried a number of different folding mic stands similar in design to this one. The K&M 21070 simply offers good value and works as you expect. It is no frills, but it is heavy enough to NOT tip over in normal stage use and it looks good with its black paint job. I own several is will buy these exclusively in the future.

After spurging on a Rode NT1 I was going to go the economy route for a mic stand, but got this instead. Totally worth the extra money.

I originally had purchased an Auray equivalent to this microphone stand to save some money and it was flimsy and wobbly. I exchanged that stand for this one (and paid a small premium) and boy, was it worth it! K&M makes some of the best microphone stands out there and the build quality and sturdiness shine, even though this is one of their less expensive stands. Would buy again in a heartbeat.
