A dynamic wide-angle zoom, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f/4 PRO from Olympus is an ultra-wide Micro Four Thirds zoom lens with the equivalent full-frame format zoom range of 16-50mm. Its sophisticated optical design, which includes a variety of aspherical, low dispersion, and high refractive index elements, reduces both chromatic and spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range for notable clarity, sharpness, and color accuracy. A ZERO lens coating has also been applied to improve contrast when working in strong lighting conditions. Beyond the advanced lens design, this zoom is also characterized by its constant f/4 maximum aperture, as well as its durable weather-sealed construction for working in a variety of conditions. Additionally, a Movie & Still Compatible autofocus system achieves fast, smooth, and silent focusing performance, and a manual focus clutch affords instant switching between focusing methods.

Ultra wide-angle to portrait-length zoom lens designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras provides an 8-25mm equivalent focal length range.

Constant f/4 maximum aperture enables consistent low-light performance and selective focus control throughout the zoom range.

The lens construction integrates one DSA (Dual Super Aspherical) element, one ED (extra-low dispersion) element, two aspherical ED elements, one Super ED element, one HR (high-refractive index) element, one Super HR element, and one HD element elements into its design to minimize aberrations, distortion, and color fringing throughout the zoom range while also contributing to overall image sharpness, clarity, and color accuracy.

A ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating has been applied to individual elements to minimize lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.

Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) autofocus system benefits both photo and video applications due to its smooth, quiet, and fast performance.

Manual focus clutch allows the focusing ring to be quickly pulled into place for direct, intuitive focus control.

Programmable L-Fn (lens function) button for easily accessible settings adjustment.

Dust-, freeze-, and drip-proof design ensure the lens' performance in inclement and harsh conditions.

Front optic features protective fluorine coating.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm produces a smooth bokeh quality.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the Zuiko digital ed 300mm f/4 compatible with the MC-20 2x teleconverter? It only lists the MC-14 1.4x teleconverter.

A: Yes. It is but we highly suggest using a 1.4x tele. be mindful that your unit already offers a built in magnification.

Q: 2. Is this 8-25mm lens compatible with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark I? It's not listed, but I can't think of why it wouldn't be.

A: Yes, the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm is based on a Micro Four Thirds System.

Q: 3. Can I use this lens on a Olympus em5 mk3 mounted on a tripod?

A: Yes Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f/4 PRO Lens is compatible with the Olympus EM5 MK3 mounted on a tripod.

Q: 4. How does the lens perform in low light for sports photography?

A: This lens is tack sharp. I dont shoot sports. In my opinion, micro 4/3 format bodies are incapable of consistent capable action auto focus and have very limited image quality above ISO 1600 regardless of which particular body you choose.

Q: 5. Any vignetting from nd filters?

A: Most ND filters will not cause vignetting on the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f/4 PRO Lens.

Q: 6. Does this lens support focus stacking for Olympus OM-E cameras?

A: Unfortunately, this functionality has not yet been confirmed. As soon as we receive more information, we will update accordingly.

Q: 7. Does this camera come with a lens case like other Olympus Pro lenses? If not, then which Olympus lens case is the best fit for this lens?

A: The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f/4 PRO Lens comes with the Olympus CS-35 Wrapping Cloth For OM-D, which is not strictly a lens case. If you want an Olympus brand case, the Olympus LSC-0914 Case for 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO Lens would be the best fit. https://bhpho.to/3EVNJYp

Q: 8. If used without the teleconverter, would I be able to get an eyes and forehead only shot without cropping? Would I be able to get an eyes only shot without cropping?

A: The minimum focus distance is 4.59 ft. and the 300mm is a prime lens. At the minimum distance you won't have much more than the eyes from left to right, but to get both eyes, you are going to get some forehead and nose, but not much more than that. Assuming you are talking about a human.

Q: 9. I assume that since this lens (the new 300mm f4 PRO) has 4 stop IS one would want to turn off IS in the camera body??

A: They work together in the E-M5 II and E-M1.

Q: 10. will this be bright enough to take photos and videos inside of cathedrals?

A: Yes. Aperture opening of 2.8 / 4 are ideal for shooting in low light cathedrals.
