Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hola, tiene problemas de magenta en low light?

A: At this time we are not seeing wide spread reports of any magenta issue with the C200 or the C200B.

Q: 2. Can i control the C200 over Wifi ?

A: Sorry, the C200 does not have Wi-Fi. You can have full wired control of the camera with the Canon RC-V100 Remote Controller B&H # CARCV100.

Q: 3. I know the screen is very flimsy on the canon. Will this hold the structure? For instance, can you put the rig in the bag without worring about stress on the delicate screen joint?

A: The Z-finder will not apply stress to the screen joint. The Z-finder mounts to the cage and has a metal guide to prevent it from apply pressure to the screen.

Q: 4. Has anyone been able to find the settings to send 1080i out through the HD-SDI port? I can only do progressive not interlaced.

A: This is a camera really for only 2 purposes, low end video for YouTube type applications or (and this is a great OR) extreme high end cinema. You can shoot its12 bit high end raw code and transcode it into nearly anything you'd like, including Apple ProRes 444 or in your case something like DVC ProHD 1080i. It's internal codecs are (at this time) limited to 3 choices. None of them are Interlaced out of the box. Hopefully Canon will add more codecs in the future as this camera is awesome.

Q: 5. Is there a setting to burn a time/date stamp into the video?

A: This camera does not have a Date and Time Stamp available.

The best camera is the one matched for your production needs. The best low light camera may not have a good work flow for your production. You have to consider what is correct for your needs. The C200 is a much better camera for cinema. The 1D X Mark II is a stills camera that can do limited video. The low light performance of the C200 should be more than adequate for most video production needs. We are not sure of what magenta issue you are concerned with. Excessive magenta should be correctable in post.

Q: 7. hello most excellent Bh dudes!i have a question? What will the eosc200b need to use out of the box? How would you operate a camera with out a monitor?

A: You will need a monitor to operate the C200B. The C200B is really designed for use on a Motorized Gimbal and goes under the assumption that you will be using a Monitor on that gimbal. You will also need a lens and cabling. If you want an option that is ready to go out of the box, you will want to look at B&H # CAC20024105 which is the full C200 with a 24-105mm lens. You'd just need memory cards and you'd be good to go with this product.https://bhpho.to/2wu0re0

Q: 8. Note a little magenta in some videos I saw, you know if it is possible that canon fix this with an update?

A: Color cast can come from many places. I would regard any video less than corporate on the internet as having possible artifacts. If you were to get a C200 whose color cannot be adjusted to your liking, it is likely a service issue and would need adjustment by a Canon service center.

Q: 9. Does the c200 come with the same EVF plate cover as the C200B (if I want to remove EVF)?

A: The EVF is not removable on the C200.

Q: 10. Can the EVF of the Canon EOS C200 EF be installed in the Canon EOS C200B EF?

A: No, it is not possible at home or in the field to put a C200 EVF on the C200B. It would have to be done by Canon and is expensesive. The reasonable alternative is to get a quality EVF or monitor.

I absolutely love this purchase! The 80D was my first crop body, and it did not disappoint. I picked it up for mainly video, not much for photography because all of my other bodies are full frame. But I had a studio session with a model yesterday and decided to sneak in a few shots with the 80D and was very blown away by this little guy. Great all-around camera, and it feels solid. You won't regret this purchase!

We stepped up from a 10 year old Rebel to the 80D. It's a terrific camera. I give it top marks for build quality, image quality, live view functionality, autofocus, and the ability to navigate menus and set focus points via the touchscreen. Being able to pinch and swipe images on the touchscreen is a really nice addition. We're going to enjoy this camera for a long time.

Have had the camera jus a few weeks. Haven't had a chance to field test but indoor photos so far have been of the quality for which Canon is known. A significant improvement over my old EOS 5D.

I am upgrading from a T5 to let you know where I am coming from. I quickly found I was hitting the limitations of my T5 and wanting so much more. The 80D hit the spot! The low light performance was very noticeable right out of the gate. The 7FPS is something that I feel anyone taking wild-life, sports, or action shots can not live without. My T5 kit came with a 18-55 and 75-300 lenses. This left a terrible gap in where I had to be positioned to get the best shot for venues like ceremonies or cast shots in a theater. I purchased the 18 to 135 kit lens and I would say it is an absolute necessity for the 80D. I was worried about the quality of the touch screen as they look quite flimsy from the photos, but it is as solid a feature as any other on the camera. The 80D is feature rich. I couldn't see myself ever using some of the options, however they don't seem to get in the way of setting the camera up the way I need. I think for the price-point the 80D is just right as I found myself buying accessories for my T5 that the 80D already had built-in. Optical master, interval timer. With the 18-135 lens this camera is quite heavy and with a speedlite flash it would be too cumbersome for casual photography as opposed to being on a mission. One of my favorite features is the custom modes 'C1' and 'C2'. You can take any of the other modes and create a custom mode, save it to one of these selections and pull it up by rotating the dial. I am not too keen on the button you have to press to change the modes though.

My Canon 60D was damaged on a recent overseas trip, and the repair cost was too high to consider, so I upgraded to the 80D. I'm glad that I did. There are a lot of improvements, particularly when taking videos. Resolution is up, noise is down, and it's a bit easier to use. The WiFi connection wasn't as easy to set up as it could have been, but I finally connected to my phone and can control the camera remotely. This will be a useful feature for some of our shooting situations since many birds and animals will tolerate the camera but not the photographer. After a couple of weeks of shooting, this looks like an excellent upgrade from the 60D, and it's way better than the Rebel SL-1 that I was using before.

I think this is the best choice if you want to start your career as a photographer or a videographer. It's such a great camera! And, besides all the awesome features and quality, I really love the integrated wifi.

I purchased the Canon EOS 80D as an upgrade from an older Canon Rebel series camera, BIG difference. Many more features than my old Rebel, excellent image quality for stills, and really like the variable angle touchscreen. Although I primarily use the camera for still photography, the video features and quality are excellent. I highly recommend the 80D because it's a very good all-around camera for both stills and video. I would also like to say that my purchase experience through B&H was hassle free, no sales tax and free shipping, and I received the camera in just a couple of days.
