Dpa Microphones 6061 Core Subminiature Low-sensitivity Omni Lavalier Microphone With Unterminated Pigtail Leads (brown)
- Product Code: ga205542

The brown DPA 6061 CORE is a subminiature, moisture-resistant lavalier microphone designed for use with wireless systems for broadcast, performance, and theatrical applications. The low-sensitivity electret-condenser capsule can handle even very loud performers to deliver crisp, clear, and intelligible speech. The mic's 3mm size is easy to hide in clothing or costumes, making it well suited to the demands of professional presentations, theater, and live stage work as well as TV, film, and video productions.
The 6061 shrinks DPA's CORE technology down to a 60% smaller size that still delivers extended dynamic range and extremely low self noise for outstanding sound quality. An included capsule protection grid protects the mic element and supplies a subtle 4 dB soft boost between 8 to 20 kHz, lightly enhancing signal presence to ensure clarity. The cap can be removed for cleaning and attaches to the mic with a firm click that can be felt and heard.
With an SPL rating of 144 dB, the microphone is more than capable of handling even very loud vocalists, presenters, and speakers. The 6061 CORE is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from a wireless transmitter and features unterminated (pigtail) leads, allowing you to wire the mic for a compatible transmitter or device using the connector of your choice (available separately).
For Video/Film/TV, Broadcast & Theater Omnidirectional for Consistent Levels Unterminated Pigtails for Custom Wiring Tiny 3mm Size Is Easy to Conceal Handles Speech/Vocals up to 144 dB SPL IP58-Certified Dust & Moisture Resistant CORE Increases Dynamics & Reduces Noise Requires 5 to 10V or Phantom Power Includes Soft-Boost Grid

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Can a timestamp be put on when a recording begins?
A: While the Tascam DR-70D 6-Input / 4-Track Multi-Track Field Recorder with Onboard Omni Microphones does not have a timecode feature, recordings can be stamped with the date and time as set in the menu.
Q: 2. Can I record a stereo signal (Rde Stereo VMP with 3.5 mm jack) along with a mono shotgun (Rde VMP with 3.5mm-XLR adapter)? My whole interest in the DR-70D is to be able to do this. I know this unit has the right jacks, but I want to make sure there aren't any recording mode or software limitations that won't allow this.
A: Yes will work fine.
Q: 3. Is the line out to camera a stereo or mono signal?
A: The Tascam DR-70D features a 3.5mm stereo camera output. The unit is capable of outputting stereo or a dual mono signal to the camera.
Q: 4. What's the best setting for DB levels on the line out to A7siii camera. If I set the tascam to +12 then it looks like camera can be at a volume setting of 3. Since the camera preamps are probably worse than the Tascam wouldn't this be best. I read elsewhere to set the Tascam so the camera ends up @ 8. What do you guys think?
A: We recommend using a level matching cable to pad the line level output signal from the Tascam DR-70D so it will provide a compatible signal level that will not overload the camera's mic input. The Sescom LN2MIC-ZOOMH4N Line to Microphone Attenuation Cable for HDSLR Cameras (B&H # SEL2MZH4N) will provide a -25 dB pad for the 70D's line level output and the Kopul ACH4-25MON Line-to-Mic Attenuator Cable (B&H # KOACH425MON) works in the same way and also includes a headphone tap.
Q: 5. Can you gain the output to the cam and by how much, i.e. turning audio on Canon to a notch above zero so to send a hot signal from the tascam and get a decent audio recorded so to avoid later syncing from the double system?
A: Under Menu Monitor, you can set the Camera Out port to either CAM level or LINE level, and there is a separate Output Gain for that port as well, that goes from -12db to +12db.I tried to record to a 5D Mark III, by setting the 5D's audio to manual and turning the gain just 1 click to the right. I set the DR70D to CAM output, and with the gain turned up to +12, the levels still weren't reaching the optimum spot on the camera meters. So I set the Output to LINE instead, and the camera levels jumped up considerably. It describes it in the Tascam Reference book that if the camera levels are too low using CAM setting, to switch over to LINE.I haven't done a comparison to see if LINE is as clean as CAM though.
Q: 6. When mounted to a DSLR, does the DR-70D pick up noise from handling/moving the camera?
A: There is no handling noise transferred to the DR-70D in normal operation. If the internal mics are active, then the possibility may exist.
Q: 7. About how long does it run on batteries (for both running it without phantom power and when running it on phantom power to 1 mic)?
A: Kathryn,The available information on this subject is covered on p.22 of the Owner's Manual:a href= http://tascam.com/product/dr-70d/downloads/ target= _blank http://tascam.com/product/dr-70d/downloads//aThe Battery operation time numbers are derived using the specific batteries indicated.Thank you for your interest in TASCAM products.
Q: 8. Is the SanDisk 128GB Class 10 ExtremePRO SDXC Memory Card, U3, 95MB/s Read Speed a good option for the Tascam DR-70D? What is the optimum read speed in a SD card for this device? What is the SD card perfect match for the 70-D?
A: Speed Class indicate minimum writing performance. This is important mainly for camcorders, video recorders and other devices with video recording capabilities. Even a Class 4 card is sufficient for handling audio recording tasks. Tascam has officially tested Class 6 cards which function properly with this recorder.
Q: 9. Power cable besides batteries?
A: An AC power adapter/cable is not included. The included USB cable may be used with this optional adapter that is available at an additional cost:The PS-P515U AC to USB Power Adapter from Tascam is a convenient adapter that allows you to power a USB device from an AC power outlet. It is ideal for portable audio recorders, allowing you to run them for hours without worrying about battery life.
Q: 10. Can this be used as a sound with sound recorder? Could record two tracks, then add three and four while listening to the first two? [to add instruments or narration]?
A: Yes, the DR-70D is a 4-track multi-track recorder so you can overdub additional tracks.
