The LumenRadio Aurora features LumenRadio CRMX technology for wireless DMX, and it is capable of single-universe transmissions and receiver applications with advanced features. Capable of transmitting or receiving one universe of DMX/RDM, it is a flexible device that can also move between universes. The enhanced radio design allows for long-range, solid transmissions up to 3280'.

The onboard Wi-Fi can receive sACN and Art-Net, while the Bluetooth interface enables configuration via the CRMX Toolbox App and streaming of DMX. The 5-pin XLR port can be used as an input or output for DMX/RDM from any source, making the Aurora act as a protocol converter. With the intuitive color screen, it's easy to configure locally, using the rotary knob to move between settings and universes. For even more control, the CRMX Toolbox App is capable of configuration from any smart device.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with a Canon XA10?

A: It will not. This is not compatible with the XA10.

Q: 2. This may be a dumb question but does this connect wirelessly directly with a smartphone or computer or does it have to be through a router? Like I said, it may be dumb but for example an apple tv connects to your devices through a network and not directly. I imagine a camera would need to connect directly. If I am out in the woods away from a wifi connection and want to remotely control the camera with my phone will this work? Also, if I want to upload a picture to instagram, will I be able to transfer it directly to my phone and upload through my cell data?

A: It appears that it works directly with the smartphone. In setup, the camera has a screen that asks for connection to the phone. You then get a pass code which you use to access a wifi network that appears to come direct from the camera. On the phone, this shows as different from the router in our home. And, I have gotten a bit over 25 feet of connectivity indoors with a direct sight line.

Q: 3. Has anybody tried this adapter with video? I'm looking to use it to make my iPhone into a wireless monitor for my 7DMKII. Curious if it works.

A: The W-E1 does not allow for remote viewing while video recording. From the Canon Digital Learning Center: Video recording must be completely stopped, and the camera switched out of video recording mode altogether, before Wi-Fi communication with mobile devices can be performed.

Q: 4. When will they be in stock?

A: Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have an estimated arrival date for the Canon W-E1 Wi-Fi Adapter. Once we have more information on the unit's arrival, we will update the Ship Time section on the Wi-Fi adapter's webpage, and update the item's inventory status. Until then, I would recommend clicking the white Request Stock Alert button on our website under the Pre-Order button and enter your e-mail address and we will e-mail you when the card is in stock. Otherwise, you may simply periodically check our website for an update in the item's inventory status.

Q: 5. can the main stage be separated to use as a 1-axis on a steadicam?

A: Yes, this can be broken down to a single axis. We even offer BH #LELTHXJRAL1A which is the Letus35 Helix Jr. 1-Axis Aluminum Camera Stabilizer. https://bhpho.to/2Lk2Azm

Q: 6. how does it work in low light ?

A: It seems to work great in all conditions. I use it mostly on my Jeep off roading.

Q: 7. Hi, would this adapter be compatible with the SL1?

A: I do not think so. This microSD card needs a specific driver in the camera.

Q: 8. 5d mk3?

A: No, it is not. Canon states the Canon W-E1 Wi-Fi Adapter is compatible for use with the Canon EOS 7D Mark II Body, the Canon EOS 5DS R Body, and the Canon EOS 5DS Body.

Q: 9. Is there a Canon Remote control iOS app (for iPhone) that allows remote control of the Canon 5DSR with this? Does it allow live view, image stacking, intervalometer functions, etc. like the Fuji app?

A: The W-E1 works with the Canon's Camera Connect mobile app. It will allow you to control, EOS 7D Mark II, EOS 5DS and the EOS 5DS R.At this time we do not have a list of all the features.

Q: 10. Can the wifi adapter connect directly to a kindle tablet or is a router needed. I shoot with a 7d mk2. I use a CF card for RAW and a SD card for JPEG (same time). Looking to leave my laptop home and just carry my tablet. At end of days shooting I would like to replace the SD card with this adapter and then transfer the picture from the CF card to my tablet for viewing. Can I do that with this adapter? Is a wifi router needed as go between my tablet and camera?

A: You can connect directly to the W-E1 card directly as it creates its own hotspot. There is an option to use a local network but have not found this to be an advantage. I also shoot with a 7d mk2. I use a CF card which stores both RAW and JPEG. The W-E1 card remains installed in the SD slot.Using the Canon app on my iPad I can connect directly to the 7d and transfer the JPEG images images wirelessly. This is quite convenient to get a first look at the photos that I took, do basic corrections either with the Photos app or via the Lightroom app on the iPad, and then share. I do not believe there is an option to transfer raw to the iPad.Using the Canon EOS Utility on either my iMac or MacBook I can transfer the raw images wirelessly. These are then brought into Lightroom for processing.I do not believe that there is an app for the Kindle tablet but have not done a serious investigation as I do not have this device.Hope this helps.
