Designed to show mastering engineers the truth about the level and loudness of audio content, the SONORIS Meter plug-in displays peak and loudness levels in high resolution on the same scale, without bogging down the host CPU. Not only does it offer traditional scaling, it also features K-System metering (created by the legendary Bob Katz) with K-20, K-14, and K-12 settings to suit various genres and preferences.

Choose between RMS and Leq(A) loudness measurement modes, and even customize the number of consecutive overs before clipping appears on the resettable indicators. Sample-accurate peak metering and an intersample peak-metering mode ensure precise viewing of preclipping transients, while the built-in correlation meter allows easy visual monitoring of the program material's phase coherency. With configurable pink-noise output options, the Meter plug-in can also be used for monitor calibration. SONORIS Meter can be loaded into VST-compatible host software on Windows systems.

With the SONORIS Meter, you can measure peak and loudness levels of audio signals in high resolution, simultaneously at one scale. The end product closely follows the K-system specifications, including Leq (A-weighted) loudness metering and band-limited pink-noise monitor calibration.

SONORIS Meter features an oversampling peak meter mode. In this mode, the plug-in catches intersample peaks that can cause ear fatiguing when audio is played on consumer CD players. Many CD players have inferior D/A converters with little headroom that will distort with samples above the clip level. These peaks occur when the audio is clipped or otherwise digitally manipulated. In oversampling mode, the plug-in models the D/A conversion process and allows for maximizing the level but without this distortion.

At the bottom of the interface, a correlation meter can be found. This meter enables you to monitor the phase relationship between the left and right channels.

In addition to offering regular metering, the SONORIS Meter makes use of the K-System, created by heralded mastering engineer Bob Katz. The main advantage of this system is that you always work at the same monitor level, and the chosen setting (K-20, K-14, or K-12) defines how much headroom there is available. This allows you to be more consistent in your mastering.

Featuring resettable indicators for clipping and clipping incident counters, plus an adjustable number of consecutive overs before clipping, the SONORIS Meter gives you full control over clipping displays.

Q: 1. What is the lux measurement range for this Illuminometer?

A: Measurement range : 2.50 lx to 200,000 lx

Q: 2. The specs note that the lowest ISO is 3 however, I've read a few reviews that state lowest ISO is 100. Can you confirm ISO goes lower than 100? My camera goes down to ISO 64 and want to make sure I can use that setting.

A: According to the manual, on page 34, it lists the ISO range from 3-8000. The choices you have are: 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 64, 80, 100, 125, 160, 200, 250, 320, 400, 500, 640, 800, 850, 1,000, 1,250, 1,600, 2,000, 2,500, 3,200, 4,000, 5,000, 6,400, 8,000

Q: 3. Can this meter be used for flash photography?

A: Yes. On Sekonic's website, it's main features state: Incident Metering for Ambient & Flash Incident means available light, and Flash means using a flash on your camera

Q: 4. Where is this light meter manufactured? Thank you.

A: Currently this meter is manufactured in the PHILIPPINES.

Q: 5. Does this meter work with PocketWizard plus 3 wireless?

A: You can attach a PocketWazard Plus 3 to the meter via a sync cord like this, https://bhpho.to/3Nsyv10 .

Q: 6. ia a difference between XU or X ?

A: Same product U-comes with USA Warranty Limited 1-Year Warranty Limited 2-Year Warranty Extension with Online Registration

Q: 7. What this meter be good for someone trying to stop using auto mode and learn manual mode on their camera?

A: Possibly. It could help you understand the difference between a reflective reading (what all cameras give you) and an incident reading. (this meter can give you reflective and incident readings. And if you're planning to use studio flash it can be invaluable. But you can learn a lot just by putting your camera in manual mode, put your camera's meter in spot mode, and then just pay attention to how the camera indicates changes in exposure value (EV) when you put the spot on subjects of different brightness. Take pictures using the different readings and see how the overall picture brightness shifts.

Q: 8. Does this meter tell you light temperature as well? i.e. 3200, 5600, etc

A: No, the Sekonic L-308X-U Flashmate Light Meter is not a color meter and does not measure the light Kelvin temperature output. If you are trying to measure color temperature, I would recommend the Sekonic C-700-U SpectroMaster Color Meter, B&H # SEC700U, the Kenko KCM-3100 Professional Color Temperature Meter, B&H # KECM3100, or the Illuminati Instrument Light and Color Meter, B&H # ILIM100, for your usage needs.

Q: 9. Can i use this for Speedlight manual (YOngnuo 560 IV)?

A: Yes, it will work without any issue.

Q: 10. Does this light meter have any cinema / video related functionality?
