The CTA Digital VESA Compatible Laptop Plate lets users easily add virtually any laptop to a kiosk, mobile stand, desktop, podium, table, or any base with a standard VESA 75 x 75 and 100 x 100mm mount. Laptops are held firmly in place with rubber grips at the base and adjustable spring-loaded arms at either side. Once installed, laptops can be rotated 360 degrees on the plate offering preferred viewing orientation. This holder works with laptops from 11.25 to 17.625 inches wide.

Q: 5. are the tube holders plastic or metal?

A: The collars that cover each stand section are plastic.

Q: 6. What is the size of the smallest footprint of this stand? I am looking for a light stand where I can sometimes move to a tighter area and want the flexibility of making the footprint smaller.

A: At the minimum spread (when the center post just touches the ground), the foot to foot distance is 19 inches, and the stand will fit within a circle 22 inches in diameter.

Q: 7. Compatible with a Arca-Swiss P0?

A: This would not work directly with the Arca-Swiss pO. However, the Acra-Swiss plates that work in the pO will work in this clamp.

Q: 8. Will this plate work with Leica M10? And Nikon D750? Thanks!

At this price, I was afraid that this stand would be cheaply made... I was wrong. It is very well made, from high quality materials (aluminum) that are well constructed. One of the best value-to-cost items that I've purchased in a long time. It sets up easily and is quite solid in use. It is light weight, and a sandbag at the bottom would be a good idea in any kind of breezy outdoor uses. I'm not a pro, so I don't know with certainty if this would stand up to extremely heavy usage...but for my uses (shooting bird photos in outdoor locations, some portraiture, occasional tabletop set-up shots) it will do very well, and I am very happy with this purchase. 5

This is the perfect starter light stand considering weight limitations. Personally, I would recommend starting with the Impact Heavy-Duty Air-Cushioned Light Stand (Black, 9.5') as that is what I changed to after 1 week of use. This light stand is now used as a stand/holder for my diffuser. 5

For the price, these light stands can't be beaten. At my previous job, where we had a large assortment of light stands, the Impact stands were always the first ones we grabbed. They're lightweight, portable, and as long as you're reasonable with the weight, very stable and trustworthy. If you are using larger equipment or extending the stand to max length, I'd definitely recommend using sandbags. 5

I'm using this with a Speedlite and Lastolite for insect/spider macro photography in a home studio and it works very well—stable but easy to move. I am very pleased and will be buying another to set up a similar arrangement in my university lab. 5
