Electronic musicians, producers, and engineers looking to expand their BFD library will be impressed with the BFD Oblivion Drum Expansion, an expansion library well suited for rock and metal drum sounds. The library is inspired by genres like sludge, post-metal, prog-metal, and alt-rock and are designed to slice through a dense wall of guitars.

The set is based around 3 different versions of a Mapex Orion kit with Mapex brass and Brady jarrah wood snares, each with different degrees of processing. The cymbals include selections from Bosphorus, Zildjian, and Paiste in natural and processed versions. Oblivion is processed heavily, allowing you to add your hardest bass and guitars to create an authentic foundation for all rock and metal music.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use 4 drives together, 3 drives for RAID 5 and one drive for a backup?

A: The storage pools on the QNAP TR-004 4-Bay USB 3.2 Gen 1 RAID Expansion Enclosure can be configured any way you need.

Q: 2. With RAID used with DIP switches, can you still read individual hard drive S.M.A.R.T. info?

A: Most do not allow this. This one has not been tested.

Q: 3. My TVS-872XT (RAID 6) gets around 600MB/s write and 900MB/s read via 10GBe. Would expanding capacity with this slow it down?

A: The QNAP TR-004 4-Bay USB 3.2 Gen 1 RAID Expansion Enclosure, B&H # QNTR004US, has USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0 5Gbps), so the speeds are going to be limited to 5Gbps (540MB/s).

Q: 4. Does the TR-004 have S.M.A.R.T. support and is it able to work with DriveDx on the MacOS (Mac Studio) platform?

A: The manual for the QNAP TR-004 4-Bay USB 3.2 Gen 1 RAID Expansion Enclosure does not include any mention of S.M.A.R.T. compatibility.

Q: 5. Will this accept Seagate Barracuda XT 3.5" 2TB drives for mirrored RAID?

A: Yes, this will accept any 3.5" drives.

Q: 6. can this drive be password protected?

A: The Seagate 10TB Expansion Desktop USB 3.0 External Hard Drive does not have password protection.

Q: 7. What is the length of the USB cable(s) from the device to the computer? Thank you.

A: The Seagate 4TB Expansion Desktop USB 3.0 External Hard Drive BH #SESTKP400040 comes with a USB cable that is 18 inches.

Q: 8. What do i have to do to get raid 1 on all 4 drives (becoming 2 drives)?

A: RAID 1 is 1 drive data and all the remaining drives are redundant copies. For this device that would be 3 drives of backup.

Q: 9. I'm currently using a 14TB external drive for Time Machine backup on my Mac. Can I remove and insert that hard drive into the QNAP and add another 14TB disk and use it as JBOD, or do I have to copy the Time Machine data and reformat the 2 drives?

A: It is recommended instead that you install drives that are certified compatible with the TR-004. You can then migrate the Time Machine backup to the TR-004.

Q: 10. Can I use the TR-004 as a DAS without RAID configuration, load disks already formatted for Mac with data on them and remove a disk for used on an external dock? I'd like to remove disks for my off-site backup purposes.

A: Yes, however the preformatted drives would be reformatted again to JBOD. Each time you would also have to power down the device to make modifications.
