Heliopan 62mm Screw-in Rubber Lens Hood

Heliopan 62mm Screw-in Rubber Lens Hood
  • Product Code: ga207

$100.50 $127.64

The Heliopan 62mm Screw-in Rubber Lens Hood is designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering a lens by extending and shading its front end. This prevents lens flare and improves image contrast. In addition, since the end of a lens is extended when using a hood, you also get the benefit of extra protection from accidental impact to that lens's front element.

This lens hood is constructed with a rubber compound that is UV and temperature resistant, and the rubber material can be rolled back for storage or to convert the hood for use with wide-angle lenses. By rolling back the lens hood, its opening can be made to correspond with a wide-angle lens's angle of view so that vignetting is avoided.

A metal mounting ring connects the hood to a lens with 62mm filter threads and a 0.75mm thread pitch. The mounting ring also features corresponding 62mm front filter threads which can be used to accommodate filters, lens caps, or other threaded accessories.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this hood work with a 28mm lens on a full-frame Nikon dlsr without vignetting?

A: This lens hood would not vignette on a 28mm lens mounted on a full frame camera when it is rolled back.

Q: 2. Does this rubber lens hood fit on 82mm variable nd filter?

A: Yes it can.

Q: 3. Can it (67 mm lens hoods) be used in Zeiss Batis 25 mm F2.0 without Vignetting?

A: A generic option such as this can be used, however it may not alleviate all vignetting as it was not specifically designed for this lens. The correct hood would be the ZEISS Lens Hood for Batis 25mm f/2 Lens (B&H # ZELS25B) which will not cause vignetting.

Q: 4. Will this fit Sony fe 24-70 f/2.8 GM? (BH #SO247028GM)

A: Yes, this hood will fit the Sony 24-70mm 2.8 lens.

Q: 5. does this lens hood work on a Nikon 200-500 ?

A: Yes, they both share a 95mm filter thread.

Q: 6. If this lens hood is used on the Sony FE PZ 28-135mm f/4 G OSS Lens with an UV Filter attached, will it cause vignetting ?

A: It depend on the sensor but we will assume you have this on a FE camera which would be most likely to cause vignetting. However, with a 28mm wide end, we do not see vignetting to be an issue with a filter or this hood.

Q: 7. If this lens hood is used in Sony FE 16-35 mm F4.0 ZA, will it cause vignetting?

A: Yes on 16 mm.

Q: 8. what focal length is this hood for?

A: I use this on several lenses. I can push it back to make it smaller, it is great for packing and taking on trips, it has never interfered with any photo when in full out mode or pushed back. Its is great, but I would buy two, once you begin using this, you will love it so much if you loose it or misplace it, it will drive you nuts. Hard hoods will be a thing of the past.

Q: 9. Will this hood be usable for both wide-angle and telephoto lenses? (30mm and 90mm)

A: Most likely. There is a slight chance of viginetting with a 30mm and it can't provide the full protection a longer shade would with a long lens. Odds are it will be a good compromise for use with both.

Q: 10. Does this hood “extend” or is it only 0.8” deep? Want to use on a Tamron 150-600 for easier traveling than the one provided.

A: This hood is nominally 1 1/2" in depth. The only 0.8" listing we have attached to this hood is the depth of the box it comes in.
