A: The OWC Thunderbolt Hub will not damage your Mac Mini as the Mac has a protections in place to prevent power damage from USB devices.

A: not sure - sorry -the only problem I have it doesn't power every external usb 3.0 or 2.0 bus powered drive. media transfer stops half way through. I find that the new thunderbolt bus powered external drives with 3.0 connections do transfer media fine.

Q: 7. Can i use 2 different size drives for example an 8tb and a 5tb for Raid 0 = 13tb?

A: Not with a hardware RAID you can't.

Q: 8. Are the drives hot swappable?

A: The OWC Mercury Elite Pro is a RAID enclosure, so the drives are not hot-swappable within a RAID array. Any blank drive inserted will need to be rebuilt into the array.

Q: 9. Will this work with a thunderbolt 3 port from a 2017 iMac?

A: Yes, but you must be running Big Sur.

Q: 10. Can I use this with a USB-powered DVD writer, e.g. BH Parts #APMMD564LLA and #PEUSB33CA06 ?

A: There should be enough power to handle those.
