Use a lens cap if you have expensive glass worth protecting. This is probably the fourth cap I've had to buy - I keep losing them. Even the tethers I've tried don't work. There's nothing wrong with this cap, though. 5

I replaced the snap-on lens caps on my Zeiss ZF.2 lenses with Nikon caps. Perhaps it is user error, but I've had difficulty with Zeiss lens caps attaching easily and staying put. I have had far fewer attachment challenges with Nikon lens caps. Since I shoot with Nikon and Zeiss lenses, I know that when I'm in the field I won't be finger-fumbling with various lens cap mechanisms. Whether it is one of my Nikon lenses or a Zeiss, I can easily and quickly remove or replace a lens cap without looking, even with thin gloves on. One less thing to get in the way of a positive photography experience. 5

Mamiya makes great lenses for the RZ67, but the front lens caps are poor even when new, especially when reaching in through a lens shade to take them off. If you're not especially careful, it is easy to touch the front glass of the lens with the cap. The Nikon 77mm lens cap is the perfect upgrade, and it gives you positive control with its center-pinch design. Highly recommended. 5
