Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Not counting the boom arm, how many sections does the stand have?

A: Two. The boom arm adds two more as a stand only

Q: 2. What is a good bag i.e. one that does not cost as much as the boom stand?

A: If you are looking for an economically-priced case compatible for use with the Impact Combo Boom Stand (12.95') for storage and travel purposes, I would recommend the Ruggard Deluxe Padded 48" Tripod Case (Black), B&H # RUBD3048, or the Tenba T488 TriPak - for Tripod, Light Stand or Umbrella up to 47" long, B&H # TET488B, the K&M 21311 Carrying Case for Speaker/Light Stands(Black), B&H # KM21311, for your usage needs.

Q: 3. At it's minimum height of 45 inches, this stand is too tall to fit into my travel bags. Will the top sections of the stand pull out from the base to make it more compact for travel, or are they fixed in the central column?

A: The Impact Combo Boom Stand (12.95') does not come apart to make the collapsed size smaller.

Q: 4. What is the smallest height that this collapses to? Looking to see if it will fit in my travel bag.

A: Closed Length: 45"

Q: 5. Mine stand did not come with a latch for the sandbag... where can I get one? What are they called?

A: There is a loop on the end of the boom for a clip. Any basic carabineer styled clip would work.

Q: 6. Can this hold a reflector? Do I need to buy any additional attachments?

A: This can easily hold a reflector. You best and cost effective solution would to get some A clamps and clamp the reflector to the arm. Click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/3bmuuqm

Q: 7. What is the screw thread on the end of the arm? I have a Lume Cube Panel and I want to be able to screw that on if I need only a small off-camera light. Will I need an adapter?

A: The stud on the end of the Combo Boom Stand has a 1/4" thread on one side and 3/8" on the other. The 1/4" side fits the bottom of the LumeCube panels.

Q: 8. Will this work with elinchrom strobes?

A: As Elinchrom strobes have a light stand socket that is compatible with the standard 5/8 Baby stud on the Impact Combo Boom Stand - 12.95'. While it would be compatible with Elinchrom strobes, I would recommend to check the weight of your light and/or any light modifiers you will be using and ensure it fits the stand's maximum load limit. As indicated under the Specifications tab, when used as standard stand, the maximum load of the stand is 19.84 lbs (9.0 kg). When used at maximum extension, the maximum load of the stand is 4.4 lb (2.0 kg), and when used at maximum extension with 6 inclination, the maximum load of the stand is 2.0 lb (0.9 kg).

Q: 9. What all is included with this item? What gear comes with it? I looked at the In the Box tab, but I just wanted to make sure.

A: Mine came with the stand, boom arm, spigot, and empty sand bag.

Q: 10. This C stand seems identical to the 9.8' Avenger C-Stand but has a sliding leg and has more height. Why is it cheaper?

A: While I do not set pricing and I can only state the pricing listed on our website shows our lowest available pricing for the items we carry, I will state that the discrepancy in price is the same as on the manufacturer's/distributor's own website. On the shorter 9.8' stand, the base is built onto the stand (not removable), but it has a sliding leg to accommodate the stand on uneven surfaces. The taller stand has a removable turtle base and separate center column, including its extra height. On all authorized dealer's websites, the 9.8' sliding leg C-stand would be higher in price compared to the taller removable base 10.75' C-stand.
