Q: 4. Hello. I'm looking for a ring flash for dental photography for D810 frame. What would be the advantage of R1C1 over the R1 system? Do I need to purchase a separate adaptor for an 85mm or 105mm lens? Thank you

A: The primary difference is one has the flash and mounting ring the other has a command unit. You can dispense with the command/control unit (C1) if you are using D810. You need to go to the D810's menu and look up flash and set up the channels to control the flash units. As a whole kit the R1C1 is obviously more expensive. But if you are using other flashes like SB910 and do not wish to mess with the on camera flash menu every time, R1C1 will allow you to have a specific set up that once attached it will give you consistent result you are looking for.

Very good construction. I had to buy a lens that was 6mm too big for my camera, and I wasn't sure if this tiny thing would be able to handle a 2 lb lens, but so far the threads have been holding it very well. This is a must have accessory.
