Film Photography Project's Super Monobath is a one-step solution for use with a range of black & white film types up to 400 ISO, combining developer, fixer, and stop bath into a single chemical agent. It is meant to react at an average temperature of 75°F for 3 and a half minutes, or 68°F for 5 and a half minutes regardless of film speed, allowing you to process stocks with different speed ratings simultaneously.

While more traditional processing methods allow more control over the final look of the negative, the Monobath technique is an easy and rewarding method that takes both less time and space and can yield equally impressive results.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what replenisher do you use for d76?

A: While there is a dedicated D76 Replenisher from Kodak, item 146 4833, it is something we no longer carry.

Q: 2. Does this have sound too

A: Kodak REELS Film Digitizer for 8mm and Super 8 Film does not record sound unfortunately.

Q: 3. can i use it with all black and white film?

A: Kodak Professional XTOL Film Developer is compatible with many black and white films. But since some films require specific developers, it would be impossible to say any one developer is compatible with all films.

Q: 4. I want to ask what is a 1:1 solution? Adding the contents of the bag with a gal of water makes a stock solution, so how much extra water to add to make it 1:1, 1:2 and so forth.

A: Stock solution is prepared with 1 gallon of water. After that, you can use it straight stock or mix down with water at different ratios. So, a 1:1 ratio would be made with one part stock solution and one part water. A 1:2 is one part stock solution and two parts water. So for example, if you are making 900ml of solution at 1:2 it'd be 300ml stock solution with 600ml water. I typically use diluted solution (anything other than the stock solution) as a one-shot solution, that is, one run through the tank and then disposed.

Q: 5. Can it develop ILFord hp5? And also how many rolls it develops per pack?

A: Yes, it is enough to process about 15 rolls.

Q: 6. Is the current batch problem free? Some people mentioned that the batch 2019/08/09 has some issues.

A: To our knowledge, there have been no issues reports with the current batch of this chemistry.

Q: 7. What is the suggested time for ilford 125 film with intermittent agitation?

A: An average of 3 minutes

Q: 8. Can I use Foma Fomafix for XTOL?

A: Yes. Kodak Professional XTOL Film Developer can be used with Fomafix.

Q: 9. Do you need to use wetting agent after you finish developing?

A: While not absolutely required, it is likely the best solution (pun unintended) to avoid streaks after developing.

Q: 10. How many rolls of b&w film can this 5L of Xtol develop?

A: It depends on the size of the tank you are using to process your film and the format as to how many rolls can it process. The instructions on this link give you some information on a break down of that, https://bhpho.to/3QPtt0f.
