This 67mm IR Black Red MRC Basic Filter #830/093 from B+W is a full intensity infrared filter that blocks the complete visible light spectrum, enabling image recording of the pure IR light range without visible red. The black and white contrasts are higher than those produced by dark-red IR filters.

The filter is made of precision German optical glass, each side featuring seven layers of Broadband coating for high contrast pictures with minimal residual reflection and uniform light transmission. The brass filter ring features an enhanced knurling pattern for improved grip and a special functional coating for smooth mounting and dismounting. The ring features front threads, and its low-profile design makes it suitable for use with wide-angle lenses.

Q: 1. Since this unit will not work fully with my Nikon SB 28 DX, then what would be the best remote brand and model that would operate my flash remotely? I would imagine that it would have to have a receiver component that my remote Nikon flash plugs in to, right?

A: A compatible radio trigger for use with your SB-28 DX is the Vello FreeWave LR Wireless Flash Trigger and Receiver Kit, B&H # VERFWLR. You would still have to walk over to the flash to control it manually in terms of light output, but it would offer you wirelessly triggering up to 600 ft. Please see the image below for reference.
