Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Has anybody tried this one with a BMCC 2.5K/4K, Does it fit?

A: The 2.5K size and weight don't seem like they would be an issue The Pocket Cinema 4K may be too wide, modifications for balance may be necessary, though we have not tested this specific setup so we can't say for certain. More testing is necessary.

Q: 2. I have Sony Ar7III with 24105f4G. If I change zooming length, do I need to balance again for the new zooming length?

A: As others have said correctly, it is best to rebalance the Ronin-S whenever your center of gravity changes. If the change is not dramatic, the powerful motors of the Ronin-S will likely be able to handle the change, though it's important to avoid running an unbalanced setup as much as possible.

Q: 3. Hi. Is there a way to attach a wireless follow focus to this gimbal?

A: I do not recommend it for the balance

Q: 4. According to the Ronin Expert I will need an MCC-Mini Cable in order for my Canon 5D MK IV to Auto-Focus while attached to the DJI Ronin-S. Where can I locate and purchase said cable?

A: That cable isn't available quite yet as development just finished. Although pull focus and trigger autofocus will not be available, you can use the included RSS-IR cable to control Start/stop recording video and Capture photo

Q: 5. Can someone explain why the manfrotto-style plate which comes with the Ronin-S is not compatible with standard Manfrotto style tripod heads and quick releases?

A: The Ronin-S plate is not compatible with most Manfrotto heads. Currently the only confirmed 3rd party plate that works in the Ronin-S is the BH# EIEH6P plate.

Q: 6. Will this unit balance with the Nikon Z6 using the FTZ adapter and the F mount 24-70mm 2.8? I’ve seen a mixed bag

A: Yes

Q: 7. Does the Ronin S essentials Kit cable compatibility with Sony a7iii or I have to buy another cable?

A: Unfortunately it does not. You would need to purchase BH #DJRONINP13CB which is the control cable for the Sony A7iii. https://bhpho.to/2KuHQ7Y

Q: 8. It works for Sony a99*2?

A: The Ronin-S is designed to work with Mirrorless Cameras and DSLRs. While the A99II is not on the DJI list for the electronic features of the device, like follow focus and start/stop record, it should still be able to balance the camera with an appropriate sized lens.

Q: 9. Does this kit include a full Ronin S?

A: The DJI Ronin-S Essentials Kit comes with the following list of items: Ronin-S BG37 Grip with Built-In Battery Camera Mounting Plate 3 x 1/4"-20 Camera Screw USB Type-C Cable Lens Support Camera Riser Extended Grip/Tripod (Plastic) Touch Fastener Strap for Gimbal Storage Case Limited 1-Year Warranty on Gimbal Limited 6-Month Warranty on Motors

Q: 10. Will the DJI Ronin-S work with a Fujifilm X-T3 with a battery grip and mounted in a Smallrig (2229)? The weight is fine, but does the added size cause any problems? Thanks!

A: The added size will only take more time and care to properly balance your setup.
