A really convenient accessory! It enables the photographer to remotely be in a photo while holding the remote a good distance away. Effective, useful and fun. I have no negatives - it is an inexpensive piece of equipment for any level photographer.

I am very pleased with this very affordable remote shutter release. I purchased it for my Nikon D800 and also got the cable to control my Pentax K7. It has great range and is very reliable. Also seems to be easy on the batteries. I had previously used a cable release for low light/long exposures to minimize vibration, however I found another great use for this to take self-portraits.

Most useful, best remote I have ever used. Supposed to be effective up to 300 meters. It is and then some. Easy to set up and with the correct interface cable (purchased separately and inexpensive too) can be used with any number of different cameras.

I photograph wildlife and it is especially useful when photographing birds and other wary critters so you can take their pictures from a distance. I also use it for night photography and other tripod work to eliminate blurring due to manual triggering of the shutter. It mounts to easily and quickly to my Canon T5, and has not failed me yet. The only drawback that I can find, is that it can interfere with the cameras flash operation, but this can be easily solved with an inexpensive extension device. I would recommend this devise to anyone looking for a reasonably priced remote.

This wireless shutter release by Canon has been an extremely easy unit to install and an incredibly handy unit to have. I have my camera mounted on a tripod aimed at the entrance to my bluebird house and I sit in an adjacent room whee I get a better view of the action. I can activate the shutter release from that great a distance away and it performs with consistent and predictable performance. One of my better investments!!!

I take a lot of landscape shots - waterfalls, sunsets even animals. This remote is perfect for when I need to set up my camera in a romote location or low angle shot. I use the remote on average about ten feet away but have moved further away from time to time. The signal works perfect. Highly recommend!!

Haven't used it much yet but was easy to use straight out of the box. I also like that you don't have to be in direct view to use it

I've used a wired shutter release with every camera I've owned. But recently the need for a longer cord or wireless triggering is becoming necessary. Don't bother with IR even if it is builtin. Wireless is the way to go. This is a very inexpensive route to take and it's reliable.
