Older 35mm format lenses such as standard and super speeds are less likely to cover the sensor than newer lenses such as Zeiss CP.2 or Canon Cine Primes.

Your next consideration is whether the PL mount lens will cover the a7s's Full Frame. PL mount lenses traditionally were only required to cover the Super35/APS-C frame. Lenses longer than 35mm should be no problem. Under 35mm you may experience vignetting.

A: This is a very solid PL mount, it will support heavier lenses. However it is never a bad idea to add a lens support unit to your rig, these will give you even great stability and assist you if you are using very large, heavy lenses.

A: The Sony FS-7 has a Super35 sensor. The PL lens mount was developed for film cameras with Super35 apertures. So among PL mounted lenses and cameras, there is no change in the field of view or magnification. As near as I know, there is no full frame PL mount camera so you will never see a difference among PL mount Super35 cameras while using PL mount lenses. (An exception of course is if you go to a camera with a PL mount but with a smaller sensor than Super35.)I strongly suggest that using crop factor or lens magnification as tools be dropped. Just learn what the wide-normal-tele lens mm's are for each camera you are using. For me it makes no sense wasting time calculating for a format you are not using.
