The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is tan and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a Switchcraft TA4-F connector for use with specific* Electro-Voice wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this a better mic for capturing dialogue than the MKE600 ?

A: The NTG4+ and MKE 600 are comparable in terms of performance and audio quality. You should get similar results using either mic, so it's really a matter of personal preference.

Q: 2. Are there any audio quality differences between the NTG4+ and NTG?

A: Both are excellent

Q: 3. Can it be plugged in zoom H1?

A: Yes you will need a xlr cable to do that.

Q: 4. Considering this microphone has an internal battery, it doesn't seem like it would need +48v phantom power. Therefore, would it work with the Sony XLR-K2M XLR Adapter Kit?

A: The NTG4 is able to be powered via internal battery or externally via phantom power from the source. This mic can be used with the Sony XLR-K2M in either manner.

Q: 5. Can this microphone be used with a AA battery for source of power also?

A: The NTG-1 does not feature battery power capability, however the NTG-2 is the same mic with the addition of the AA battery compartment.

Q: 6. Will this work on the new Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K?

A: Yes it does work all you need is this adapter in the link bellow https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1537929-REG/kondor_blue_kb_mxlr_16_mini_xlr_male_to.html

Q: 7. Is this Phantom Powered?

A: The Rode NTG4 will require phantom power in order to operate.

Q: 8. Hi, 3 questions:-Can the built-in battery be replaced?-How long is its estimated life?-What's the best way to store (ESPECIALLY considering the internal battery) when not using it for long periods of time?Thank you very much!

A: Estimated life with regular use and recharging is estimated to be in excess of 10 years. The battery would be replaced by RODE (it is not DIY). Storage is not a problem at all. Just turn off the power . This mic, including the internal battery, is warranted for 10 years (following registration)

Q: 9. Is this mic compatible with DSLR cameras? I have a Canon 5D mark III and am looking for on on-camera shotgun mic.

A: The NTG1 requires power in order to operate that is supplied by the device the mic is connected to. unfortunately this is not able to be supplied by the cameras mini jack output. For the 5D mkIII and similar cameras you will need an additional adapter that is able to provide the power to the mic such as a Beachtek DXA-SLR ULTRA, which will allow the connection of 2 mics, level control, metering and limiters to protect from overload. Alternatively a battery powered mic will also work directly connected. The NTG-2 would be an example.

Q: 10. Can a AA battery be put inside the Rode NTG4?

A: The NTG4 (no +) is only phantom powered. In theory the mic could be powered via a AA battery operated source like a Tascam or Zoom recorder for instance but the mic does NOT take batteries whatsoever. I own an NTG4+ and it is my favorite mic. It is super versatile and the rechargeable battery inside lasts forever.
