Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you please confirm if new inventory of the i60a (for Fujifilm) will have the rumored port that will allow consumers to update the firmware themselves?

A: No it will not. Only future products from Nissin will include this micro SD card slot for updates, such as the Nissin Air 10s

Q: 2. Does this flash work with the Panasonic GH5?

A: At this time, it is not listed on the official Nissin Compatibility Chart. This does not mean that it does not work, it only means that it has not been fully tested yet and added to the chart. I have received reports from Photographers who have used this combination that it is working with the GH5.

Q: 3. Do you have in stock the Nissin i60A with the latest firmware version that allows HSS on Fuji XT-2 and XPro-2?

A: All Nissin i60A Flashes for Fujifilm Cameras we have in our inventory have the updated firmware designed to enable the High Speed Synchronization function released in May 2017.

Q: 4. Are there any bulbs included with this package? the product description seems to say they are there, but other sections say bulbs not included.

A: Yes, there are (2) EBW 500 watt bulbs included with this kit.

Q: 5. anyone got this to wirelessly trigger in HSS mode on panasonic cameras (I have the GX8 and G85)? If so is there any shutter speed limitation in HSS mode below the max shutter speed of the camera? Actually- how do you trigger this is wireless RF 2.4Ghz mode as I do not see a transmitter device to go with this..? Thank you

A: We have the Olympus MFT EM-1 MARK II and use the Nissin Air Commander in HSS mode to the maximum shutter speed. I would think it would be the same with the Panasonic MFT. Here is a link to the Nissin Air Commander which fastens on the hot shoe of the camera to trigger the i60A off camera:https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1298921-REG/nissin_nda1_ft_air_1_commander_for.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1298921-REG/nissin_nda1_ft_air_1_commander_for.html/a

Q: 6. The question should have read When will this flash system work with the high speed sync capability of the XT2 and when will the air remote for Fuji be released? These would be nice to know before I drop 340 bucks. Thank you.

A: The i60a for Fuji combined with the Air 1 or Air 10 porvides all functions (TTL, HSS, etc.).

Q: 7. Does the flash come with a stand for off camera situations?

A: Yes, it comes with a hot shoe stand

Q: 8. Are the i60a flashes that are shipping now updated with the firmware that will allow them to be used with the xt2?

A: The one I've received 5 days ago on Sept 27 has the firmware.

Q: 9. I'm interested in using an Impact photo cube light tent to photograph items for ebay commerce. I'm confused by the array of lights available. What is the advantage of tungsten? Or should I consider fluorescent or incandescent? And how many watts will I need? I want to use balanced light--the bulbs would be rated as close to 5500 K as possible.

A: Tungsten light can also be an incandescent light, which uses an Edison type screw base, with wattage up to 500 watts, and a color temperature of 2900-3400 Kelvin on average. The version of the lamp that we carry would have a color temperature of 3200 Kelvin for photographic use. If you are trying to stay closer to nominal daylight which is 5500-5600 Kelvin, then you might want to consider using fluorescent lamps. Additionally, they would be more efficient in terms of life. A good option to consider would be the Impact Fluorescent Cool Light Two Fixture Kit, which would provide plenty of output to obtain a greater depth of field and a daylight balanced color temperature. Q: 10. How to check if my Nissin i160A has the latest firmware upgrade?

A: Any i60A flash that was purchased recently would have a label on the original packaging showing that has the current firmware. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not offer any instructions on how to check the firmware in the flash itself.
