The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.
The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.
This version of the E6s is tan and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a Switchcraft 851 connector for use with Lectrosonics wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Does this microphone work with cameras other than Sony's (a Nikon D7100, for example)? Can you physically try them and see if it does?
A: This microphone only works with the Sony cameras that have a Multi-interface shoe.
Q: 2. How far from the subject this mic can record with quality? Is it good for advertising production?
A: Lots of variables here, but generally you should be within a couple of feet of the sound source - less if it is a noisy environment. This is more an aspect of proper location sound technique in general, rather than the quality of this particular mic. This mic is capable of very good quality sound, but even the most expensive mic will sound terrible if it is 10 ft from the subject.

Q: 7. Will it work with a Sony HDR-CX360V
A: This microphone is only compatible with certain SONY cameras that offer the dedicated SONY Multi-Interface shoe. Your camera features a different and incompatible ACTIVE Interface shoe.
Q: 8. Does this attachment have an audio input? I plan on using this unit with the Sony a6000 and since it lacks a microphone input jack, I was looking for a way to connect a lavaliere mic.
A: There is no mic input on the Sony ECM-XYST1M. There is a microphone output to feed a signal to a digital recorder for reference, however, there is no input.
Q: 9. I bought this mic and am mounting on a Sony A7c. It sounds good but the camera is not allowing me to change the audio Rec level saying "unavailable with the currently connected external microphone. Disconnect the external microphone". It's there a way to use this mic and still alter the recording level on the camera?
A: According to page 242 in the manual for the Sony A7C, it states that "The [Audio Rec Level] settings are applied for both the internal microphone and the (microphone) terminal input." https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/685187.pdf
