The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.
The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.
This version of the E6s is black and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a Switchcraft 851 connector for use with Lectrosonics wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Why does the black one cost more if it comes with less capsules than the original, are there any other differences?
A: The rubberized black body of the recorder is it's main difference. This allows for a more rugged build and functions better in harsh environments.
Q: 2. Is it possible to plug multiple lavalier mics ?
A: Yes, you can plug in up to 4 mics (lav or otherwise) as long as they connect through XLR or in.
Q: 3. Does the zoom h6 have zero latency monitoring through the headphone jack?
A: The Zoom H6 does offer latency free monitoring in both standalone and USB interface modes.
Q: 4. In the overview it says the unit has phantom power for all main inputs. But in the demo video he says the unit does not come with phantom power! So which is true? Does it come with phantom power or not?
A: Phantom power is provided to the XLR mic inputs of this recorder as listed in the specifications on our web page for this recorder:Phantom Power +12V /+24V /+48V, independent (INPUTS 1 to 4)2.5V plug-in power, (XYH-6 MIC/LINE IN)
Q: 5. What kind of XLR adapter/ cables do I need to connect this into my camera via a Zoom H5 recorder AND will this set up work just as well as the Sony XLR-K3M adapter? Any downsides?
A: standard, 3 pin XLR Mic cables will work with either the Zoom H5 or the Sony Sony XLR-K3M
Q: 6. Does this record 32 bit Float???
A: No. The Zoom H6 Portable Handy Recorder can capture audio at 24-bit / 96 kHz. It cannot record 32-bit float.
Q: 7. Does the maximum allowable input level of +22 dBu (PAD ON) for inputs 1-4 apply to TRS only, or XLR as well? In other words, can the XLR inputs handle line level?
A: The Zoom H6 does take line level signal. You can apply the pad to XLR or 1/4'' signal coming in.
Q: 8. Is there a big sound quality difference between the NTG2 vs. the NTG3?
A: There are certainly marked differences that warrant the wide price differences. The NTG3 is designed for the broadcast or film professional and is well suited for outdoor use. That said, the NTG2 is an excellent entry level shotgun and serves well for wedding and event videography as well. ------------- NOTE:-----------------The microphone features radio-frequency (RF) interference properties that avoid annoying noise and interference caused by nearby RF sources such as radio antennas, WiFi networks, internet devices, power lines, etc. The microphone is also built to withstand the rigors of adverse weather conditions.Of course special attention is paid to the accurate, directional pickup characteristics and its frequency response, sensitivity and low noise floor, which result in pristine audio quality. The NTG3 shotgun microphone is an ideal solution for outdoor ENG and studio applications.
Q: 9. Can it record internally and output audio to a PC through the USB output?
A: Yes. Just to make sure I'm understanding the question correctly: I almost daily use this device to record professional voiceovers, using both the attached condenser mic and xlr attached sennheiser, while running it feed out directly via USB to my Mac and capture using Abobe Audition in real time. It even runs on phantom power via the USB without you having to prompt it to so you don't kill the batteries as fast as when using it standalone. [Not sure how well phantom power to external mics work and if the USB will cover those, I only have self-powered external mics]. I remember to write almost no user reviews or answer questions but in this case I had to because I cannot recommend this device enough. For under 500 the H6 captures network quality sound both ambient and input and at a price point that you're willing to use it for every type of field grunt work.
Q: 10. If I order the basic kit here, does it come with some sort of case for carrying the actual mic (and maybe even some of the accessories) in? Or would I need to explore elsewhere for properly storing it when traveling to different locations for shoots?
A: The basic kit includes the Auray Neoprene Boompole Bag for 34" Closed Boompole with Shotgun Mic and Softie (B&H # AUBPB34), which is designed to hold the boompole with the shotgun microphone, softie, and shock mount. The bag has an interior pocket for accessories and an adjustable shoulder strap.
